👍👌👏 This vehicle is so extremely over the top. An absolute dream car And definitely not only because I love nearly everything that is green. But a green Duesenberg cabriolet, even with a green engine, is definitely killing it. Thanks a lot for showing, explaining recording, editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.

This man has the Right idea when owning a car like this ... Actually Driving it and enjoying it instead of it sitting idle, theyre meant to be driven not sitting in a room/garage collecting dust . Glad to see it . Cheers .

I grew up around antiques and a local dentist that restored and actually drove them all! We took a 1913 Hupmobile up pikes peak in 1977, I was 12!

Tidbit - Not all automobiles produced by the Duesenberg brothers are the famous Model J like this one, but of the 480 or so Model J's, all were built in 1928 or 1929. They were assigned a year designation, 1930 in this case, when they were sold. With the Great Depression going on, plus the time required for custom bodies, plus the sheer expense, it took several years for them all to sell. Gotta give this guy a lot of credit for actually driving this thing, doing what it was made to do, and for sharing it with us mere mortals.

Love it! I remember visiting the Imperial Palace auto collection in 1988 when I went to Las Vegas for the SEMA show that year. I remember visiting an area they called the "Duesenberg Room", which had an unbelievably long antique wooden bar and mirror on one side of the room. The other side of the room was lined with at least a dozen Duesenberg cars! It was breathtaking!

Duesenbergs are one of the few cars from that era that can still be driven with modern traffic and not really have any problems. Brakes would still be weak, but there’s upgrades that can make those much better. Power and handling wise though they’re amazing. Would have been incredible back in the day with these compared to a typical car.

Could you imagine if Hall & Scott made a car? That would had been serious competition there. Edwin Hall was the man behind the 300+hp DOHC engines which powered these cars, and his company also made the engines for the ACF-Brill IC41 which remains the fastest highway coach ever put into production.

The brakes on a Model J lack nothing. Power assist, huge finned drums, they stop on a dime.

To the best of my knowledge, the engine was 420 c.i., or 6883 c.c. 3.8 inch bore and 4.7 inch stroke, or 95 m.m. by 119 m.m. They made an estimated 265 h.p. at 4200 r.p.m. T.S. RACING
@fidelcatsro69483 жыл бұрын
so it wasnt 480 cubic inch?
@t.s.racing3 жыл бұрын
@@fidelcatsro6948 interestingly, if you do the calculation for C.I. based on the bore and stroke, it comes to 426.428 cubic inches, but based on the calculation in C.C. of 6883 to C.I., it would be 419.951 C.I. So honesty Sir, not quite sure of the definitive answer. T.S. RACING

@@t.s.racing its okay so its about 420ci or 6900cc...in line 8 cylinder cat
@t.s.racing3 жыл бұрын
@@fidelcatsro6948 now I reverse calculated using the METRIC versions of the bore and stroke, and came up with 411.310 C.I. At the end of the day, unless I had a original block and crankshaft in front of me to measure, I can't answer the question with any certainty. I hope that helps Sir.

I guess it goes to show you, cylinder head design means a lot more than cubic inches and cylinder count. The V16 452ci 7.4L OHV Cadillac made 165hp, 100hp less than the Dusenberg, it wasn't until the early 1950s that the Chrysler 331ci Hemi beat the 265hp of this car, once again more power with less displacement.

I have been watching your station for a very long time and have totally have liked it ...I met your father a couple times at shows and we had a good time together talking. But, are you aware of all the ads KZbin is putting on your channel? .. This is destroying what started out to be a free viewing and as i really dislike commercial tv, KZbin has become the same thing. I am finding more and more people are feeling this way and unsubscribing to channels KZbin is making big money off of... Something must be done about this. I wish i had an answer ... but i do know ... if i watch your channel on my Tv, with Roku, there are less commercials .. for now .. that is! ... ... Best regards and Hope to visit next years .... just another old guy ... thom.
