8:34 For all those that say it is wrong for him to tow cars..."It is not illegal to have a parked car without current tags"..."They pay for the parking spot"..."They should be able to park the car for however long they want"...here is the reason Johnny does this. These properties have codes they must keep up with, rules and regulations they must abide by. If they do not, they will be fined. Why should the property owners get fined ($1,000.00 per car) because the tenants can't keep their cars properly licensed and in good working condition? This is not predatory towing, like some have said. This is necessary towing. Necessary to protect the property owners from getting fined and necessary to teach the car owners, if you want to own a car, you have to be responsible for that car in every way.

This problem would be easily fixed. In my country, if you have not paid your road tax or the vehicle is uninsured but registered, you are slapped with an administrative fine of 40USD for every day. That get's real expensive, real fast, so people tend to keep their road tax and insurance payment up to date. Also, if the police stop you, and you have not paid your road tax, they simply take your license plates away on the spot, and you can not get new plates until you paid your dues. A new set of license plates will cost you 190USD on top of the fine for not being taxed, and the daily fines. Since they made this law, the number of uninsured, untaxed cars have dropped dramatically for some reason :)
@rebeccahetrick65763 жыл бұрын
@@JonParrYucatan EVERY insurance company does. You have to have insurance on the car in order to register it. At least that's how it works in Connecticut where I live. You can get insurance on any vehicle whether it's registered or not, whether you have the title or not, it doesn't matter. I don't know how the DMV works where you live, but in the state of Connecticut you HAVE to have insurance on a vehicle in order to register it so that you can drive it off of the dealer lot or wherever you bought it from.... So literally every insurance company in the United States will let anyone insure an unregistered vehicle because it's literally how you get a car registered...

@jennydrumm72233 жыл бұрын
Here's a way to have "fun". I was pulling a horse trailer - WITH a horse in it, of couse - going down the interstate and my truck just QUIT! Fortunately, I was in the right lane and was able to pull over, JUST before an exit. Unfortunately, that part of the interstate had a guard rail, which didn't allow me to get very far over. I got as close to the rail as I possibly could, which left my left wheels maybe 8-10" from the white line/edge of the right lane. You're right - people don't move over! In fact, some of them were definitely close enough to SEE me and would move over INTO the right lane just before they got to me. I would bet you money that a few of the 18-wheelers didn't miss my trailer with their mirrors by more than a couple of feet. My horse was a nervous wreck with the big trucks whizzing by since his head was on that side of the trailer. Meanwhile, I was having a nervous wreck just waiting for someone to slam into the back of my rig and kill my horse and me! After at least 30 minutes some friends of mine arrived and they drove to a restaurant at the end of the ramp and went in to see about getting some help and there was a very nice man that happened to have a tire shop nearby and was in his tow truck. He drove down the service road, backed a u-turn to get onto the exit ramp and backed all the way up to me. He asked if he could help me and I answered, "All I want from life right now is OFF this interstate!" He got hooked up and pulled my rig to the restaurant where he proceeded to work on the truck for 30-45 minutes. It would start but wouldn't stay running. He finally got it to stay running to where I felt I could get the couple of miles to my destination. He refused when I tried to pay him but my friends and I kept pestering him and he finally agreed to accept $20. So I got out 2 $20 bills and folded them up so he couldn't see that it was $40 and try to refuse it and gave that to him. I mean, aside from the time he spent and the work on the truck what he did was pretty dangerous for him - backing up the exit and sitting so close to the traffic to hook up and getting us to safety! He was an excellent human being!

Technician here, if you look at the wheel on the locked up corner, you can see it's covered in baked on brake dust, that brake was likely having problems long before, and you just got lucky for the first little bit, once the rotor heated up (expanded) it locked up solid. Sometimes you can fit a C-Clamp on a brake caliper and wind it in pressing the caliper body and back of the outside pad together, if you can move it even a little that way, remove the clamp and it will likely stay moved out there, especially since you aren't using the vehicle's brakes here.

You always seem to see a lot more towing for tag issues in areas where an emissions test is required, I guess people can't get them to pass or think it will cost a bunch to fix. My check engine light comes on every November right when it's time to get the tag but it's nearly always something simple. That coupled with the fact that the first time you buy a tag for a newly purchased vehicle you pay all the ad valorem tax up front so the first tag is very expensive but only $20 afterwards. I think that contributes a lot to the no tag/fake dealer tags that are being towed.
