Thanks Rick. I appreciate the information. Your video helped me have my wife to understand the justification for having one of these. We are currently shopping around.

Really great video ... I've been contemplating the purchase of this unit and you've largely covered all my questions. Thank you!

Great video, I am interested in purchasing one for moving trailers around inside my shop. My question is how the start and stop is? I have seen some that were jerky, is the start and stop smooth? Also, I noticed that when turning that you are basically dragging the steering handle. I would assume the axle is solid. Is that correct? Definitely not a deal breaker but just wanting to know for tire life.

The stop can be harsh, but I have learned to keep toggling the switch. If you are going fast and stop, it will jerk hard. When the dolly stops, it also engages the brakes on the trailer. So I toggle the switch until the trailer slows down. And turning is not that bad, the wide wheels can make it hard to pull from one side to another. But once it's in motion, the turning does get easier. They do make other models that are way better for turning if you have the money. I'm still glad I bought mine, no clue what I would do without it.

I'm on the fence on getting one of these. Suffering sticker shock at the price. However, they're having a black Friday sale. Which might push me over the edge.

Oh I hear ya it wasn't cheap. But without it, I wouldn't be able to get my camper in place on the right side. So for me, I never once had a regret on buying it. If you end up getting one let me know how you like it.

Hello. Thank you for the video. It looks like you were struggling to turn. Is it hard to turn. And what about using in gravel? Thank you for your time.
@Ricks_Tech_Talk8 ай бұрын
The tires are wide and that a lot of weight on the tongue. It's not too bad when it's moving, but making big corrections it takes some force but nothing major. Gravel should be fine. I've used it in grass, and it only slipped when the camper wheels started to sink into the lawn. This one shows it in the grass kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmjCdISepL96gck

Haay great vid. Is the dolly something you would travel with for parks with tight, back in only sites?
@Ricks_Tech_Talk9 ай бұрын
You could, but it's a bit heavy. If you had a ramp you could drive it right into the bed.

I have a 50 foot driveway. About 10 feet of it has a slope of 6.7 percent before leveling out. Do think this will move a 4000 pound trailer up this short slope.
@Ricks_Tech_TalkАй бұрын
I know the website says maximum grade of 6% but are you sure you calculated your slope correctly? I used a digital angle meter to get the degree of my driveway, then I calculated that to percentage. So my 3.1 degree slope is approximately a 5.4% slope. If your driveway looks close to mine, you will be fine. If not, you might want to email them and see if a different unit would do the trick. Good luck

Would it work on gravel?

I would say yes, but I have not tried it. I have seen some other videos of it being used on a gravel roads.

Nice Video. Question; How much room is needed between the dolly wheels and the electric tongue jack? Were tight turns a problem?
@Ricks_Tech_Talk8 ай бұрын
Hard to say, some are not as close. I have to take the plate off and pull the jack all the way up on mine

Any trouble getting up the curb?
@Ricks_Tech_Talk8 ай бұрын
No, it never gets stuck. I usually have it on high speed until I get closer to the house, that does help it over the curb better. Here is another one I made, its very short kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmjCdISepL96gck
