Parkland trial erupts in shouting match between judge, attorney after defense abruptly rests

Just before jurors were supposed to walk into the courtroom Wednesday, defense attorneys for Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz abruptly rested their case. The move sparked outrage from Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer, who berated them for their lack of professionalism - leading to a shouting match in court.
Judge Scherer called the decision to rest without warning her or the prosecution "the most uncalled for, unprofessional way to try a case." She then accused Cruz's attorneys of being inconsiderate to all involved, but especially the jurors for wasting their trip to court.
When lead defense attorney Melisa McNeill countered angrily, "You are insulting me on the record in front of my client," Scherer cut her off.
"You’ve been insulting me the entire trial," Scherer retorted. "Blatantly taking your headphones off, arguing with me, storming out, coming late intentionally if you don’t like my rulings. So, quite frankly, this has been long overdue. So please be seated."

Exactly because she should be the judge on the Darrell Brooks case because Darrell Brooks is being his own lawyer & he was arguing with the judge & the judge put him in the grown man time out room😂😂 which is another courtroom & that’s why I say this judge wouldn’t like Darrell Brooks because he talks over his judge & want subject matter jurisdiction Lmfao because he killed 6 people in a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin and injured 68 others and why does he have the right to represent himself as a lawyer and they charging him with first degree intentional homicide & that on him because he did the crime because he’s definitely guilty.

The job of a judge is neutrality and professionalism. She used to be a prosecutor in the same county where is is now the judge. The judge is currently being investigated for her behaviour during the trial. A judge as to put their own bias to one side and be professional. Shouting at the defence, bullying them and hugging her friends in the prosecution team is not being neutral nor displaying the professionalism that a judge is meant to have In court.
