A few days ago I also had my first Parkside DIY project. My heat gun lost its power source for the fan and LED. The heating element still worked and the heat selector was also OK. I found the culprit. But I couldn't get to this SMD because it was welded exactly between a 6-pin and a 4-pin connector. Every attempt would cause everything to melt into crap but not be welded out. I saw that the fan is labeled ~17V. We all know that the whole thing works at 21V “maximum” and 4V will not Kill the fan immediately - if the heating element is even supplied with ALL volts. So I took the lazy route. I connected the fan directly to the heater's power source. In full mode, the fan runs slightly higher than normal mode, and in slow mode, the fan runs at its default speed. So now I know I had to keep it on Low, but I still have a usable heat gun. Otherwise it would be in the bin.

Hy would it be possible to put 21700 cells into the classic 20V battery? even if you need to destroy the inside of the casing. I just wonder if the controller board can handle it.
@johanv46688 күн бұрын
the controller has a max power amp rating. so the power is the same it only last longer with more cells. also charging is the same. it charge with 2.4 amps so, it takes longer to fill it.

so the bms doesn't measure the capacity on the smart batteries ?
@ErCanEverythingАй бұрын
BMS is responsible for the cell voltages and the maximum current flowing. So you can increase the battery capacity as much as you want

@ErCanEverything I made 15ah batteries from normal 2ah batteries few years ago but if these don't measure the capacity I'll do a same as you Thanks for the video I thought the bms measures capacity because it measures curent

do you know if it is possible to connect two parkside 20V 4Ah batteries in parallel safely and charge them with the same charger that charges one battery. Thanks
@ErCanEverythingАй бұрын
It is possible but before connecting two batteries, you should check their voltages. And when you have equalized them, then you can safely connect them. But in no case do not connect batteries with different voltages in parallel!!!
@imadrizkАй бұрын
@@ErCanEverything according to my knowledge with other types of batteries one can connect two batteries that have same voltage rating in parallel even if they have different voltage discharge levels because they will equalize eventually. So let us say if we have two batteries that are 12v. I think it should be safe to connect them together if one was 12V and was discharged to 10V, and I guess this should apply for lithium ion, which I have no previous experience with, but I know that they could catch fire if you tried to charge them with a higher voltage and in this case connecting a higher voltage battery to a smaller rated battery

@rhiantaylor3446Ай бұрын
If the new cells had about 9milli ohm internal resistance as you showed, 5 in series would be 44.5milli ohms. Once you had a 5S3P arrangement you measured 22.95milli ohms when you might have expected 44.5/3=14.8 milli ohms. This might mean the cells in the original 8ah pack were not as good as the 5 you added.
@ErCanEverythingАй бұрын
All are around 8-9 mOhm but the other 8 mOhm is lost in the tracks. If I had measured the outputs directly then it would have been around 19mOhm. Before the modification the 2P were with 4.8 - 5 mOhm and after I made 3P it dropped to 3.7mOhm
