I felt alive finally and it stopped my annoying sweating due to my s.a.d. i had lovely dreams with blue skies and mountains and found goos humor in dog memes. I did gain some weight because eating wasn't a chore anymore and i enjoyed taste. At this point i already have sexual dysfunction due to the depression aspect and its quite stressful not rubbing 1 out. Ive tried without paxil but then i just lean to illegal narcotics. Zoloft didnt work but this drug seemed too. Obviously you shouldn't drink alcohol on antidepressants and now that im off the paxil and have no desire to drink anymore i feel like going back on it again. 10-20mg im 31 now and found paxil in a mental hospital lol. I laugh because im so stubborn ill be at a tree with a rope and then think maybe try paxil again...most my years i havnt been on it and know i wont need it for life....but after best friend and dog dying and my pee pee broken i need help lol

Worst drug for withdrawals for me personally, months of panic attacks, vertigo, fear, depression and so much worse than the symptoms of anxiety I started taking them for. These drugs are dangerous and should be treated so. These drugs are neurotoxins. The warnings will never explain the hell of trying to get off them. I'm fully recovered now but had to put the work in with exercise, diet and most importantly excepting who I am and not who society thinks I should be, deleting all social media is a massive help.Be blessed.

Great talk. Only thing is that some of your terminology went right over my head! And in researching the medical terms that were used, your intended focus got muddled for me. Regardless, I appreciate learning from a pharmicist. So, I will return to watch more of your work, but please use layman's terms, or explain all medical terminology in easy to understand ways for people who aren't in the medical field. Thank you kindly. Also, the next time you discuss Paxil, please explain how and why it causes withdrawals when stopped abruptly. And also explain the unusual side effects that most people experience, at least at first, when taking Paxil... like the disturbing brain ticks and vision disturbances! But the withdrawal symptoms are often not discussed or played down by doctors, leaving patients uneducated about what to expect! Honestly, in my experience Paxil can be a beast if not treated with the respect it deserves! Because Paxil, and Effexor too, do not work the same or have the same side effects as others SSRIs, people need to be educated about all facets of it's gradual startup and graduated cessation (end of use) before being expected to make an educated decision before starting any of them! In my case it took months for my withdrawal paxil symptoms to subside, and my Psychiatrist had prescribed only 1 week to transition from Paxil to Effexor Xr. Week 1 as follows:: Every morning, take half 20mg Effexor Xr. Every evening, take half a 20mg Paxil. After 7days, stop Paxil and move to 20mg of Effexor Xr. the whole pill! That was it. My transition was too fast and left me fighting muscle and joint aches, migraines, brain ticks, and visual disturbances, I was miserable! I better messaged my Dr. to switch me back to Paxil or to start me on another medicine asap (my next appt. was still 1.5 month away and I could NOT WAIT! So, she turned me to Zoloft, which l had used before, 20 years earlier. Back then It helped my ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) that it was prescribed for. But ADHD was not my main concern now, and I was not surprised when the Zoloft was not helping my current issues: PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) or my GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder)! What a mess. This all started this past March 1st. I spent 2 months on Effexor Xr. And 2 months on Zoloft, and I am a mess! See, I desprately want to transition back to Paxil but I'm afraid my Psychiatrist doesn't respect these meds enough to give me an appropriate transition schedule! Especially because I'm you back to Paxil, which means I needsolid, appropriate SSRI transition advice so I don't suffer undue side effects again. She didn't do right by me or the Paxil the first time especially considering I was in Paxil almost 18 years! As a Pharmacist can you direct me to a website or message me indivually on a appropriate transition from Zoloft back to Paxil, after being off Paxil for 4 months? I am desperate! Thank you. Regards, Erin

I started taking poraxetine 20mg 3 days ago every morning. I noticed the drowsiness, dry mouth, the shaking of my hands and jaw, excessively yawning, as I exhale it feels like my body wants to squeeze and compress itself which is scary, I try to avoid yawning and do a deep breathing once I feel it coming which kind of helps. I also noticed that I have diarrhea don't know if thats part of constipation though, the first day I went like 5 or 6 times, the second day I started the BRATS diet which seemed to stop it, then the 3rd day, I went 3 times in the morning, then it stopped throughout the rest of the day. I have no idea if it'll come back. I just hope I'm not on this drug forever, and don't suffer any permanent health issues that might occur.

Hi Jenna. I've dealt with depression and anxiety a lot myself with my bipolar depression. It might be worth speaking with your doctor about changing up the antidepressant. Some are more commonly used for both anxiety and depression. I've seen a lot of people have success with cipralex (escitalopram) for example. There are many options. It might also be worth sitting down with a community pharmacist and voicing your concerns. It often takes a long time to find the right medication in situations like this. I'm sorry to hear you're having struggles. It's a tough road but stick with taking advice from your healthcare team. Have you been on Paxil for two months? It may take that long for full effect.
