Does this area have hurricane? How much is the insurance?

Hi Apple2092! Thanks for watching. Parrish is more inland from the beaches but not by more than 25 miles or so. Hurricanes have travelled across the state in the past so I wouldn't say the area is never going to be hit. Can't predict perfectly, but we usually know the expected path of a storm. And insurance really depends on the value of the home and other factors such as the age of the roof and the house so that is hard to estimate. Usually a builder rep will be able to give you an idea of the cost an some people have used the rule of thumb of 1% of the value of the home. But rates have gone up and I'm not sure that is the best rule to use anymore.

Apple, if you'd like to check with a Florida insurer on the rates, we can connect you with one. As Susan mentioned, there are many factors to your home insurance rates. In addition to the size and value of the home, flood zone is a big factor. Most of the homes in this community are designated Flood Zone X and do not require flood insurance. In addition, Flood Insurance in this zone is much less expensive and still worth consideration.

Hi Suzi, thanks for watching. CDD = Community Development District which is used by some developers to provide funds for infrastructure in a new home community. It is paid in conjunction with property tax. But this community does not have that fee.
