After 37 flights I felt like it was time to share my thoughts about this little Bebop 2. If you're interested and have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll respond.

I am looking for a drone that I will be able to save or stream videos to my iPhone immediately, and then use my iMovie app to then edit those videos... I don't want a drone that I will have to take my videos and import them into my PC in order to edit them... Will this drone do that?

Absolutely. Once you're done flying/filming, the app will actually prompt you to download the video/photo files to your phone. You can always initiate that yourself of course. All of the files will transfer right to your phone and you can edit them just like any other video. Depending on how large the video files are it could take a while to transfer, but it definitely works just fine.

I wanted you to know that these videos made me a believer of this drone. The range, it's reliable and it is fun to fly. My Granddaughters have flown it and, well, it is just the best. I believe it is best with the original sky controller. I like the newer version, but the original is the best for range. I have over a dozen drones now and have flown many hours. Great review, I have about 40 flights on my Bebop 2 and you are spot on with the pros as well as the cons. I too wish the Bebop had more internal memory. For the money, the Bebop 2 has been my favorite drone to have with me for quick flights and photos of areas of interest. The Flight Plan option has been worth the extra 20 bucks. I have really had a lot of fun programming and watching the Bebop 2 go through its flight plan. The videos have been great using this function. Thanks for the great KZbin videos, keep up the great work.

Mike Wrobe i just bought the parrot 2 weeks ago and i say it is excellent. Very easy to use. $100 cheaper than the spark, way longer flight time with a superb 25 minutes, and it comes with the FPV googles. Very intuitive app easy to use. For your concern, do not fly the parrot with your phone only on wifi, the app will crash. It happened to me yesterday but the return to hone instantly kicked in and came back instantly. There is a setting in the app, i put it to the lowest which is 3 seconds to return to home after lost of signal. So make sure to connect the cable supplied to your phone to the controller, no issues for me flying it very high and far

I have not tested the Spark, but if the price drops any I might grab one. With that said, from everything I've seen it's a great little drone. I think the Spark beats the BB2 in the video and photo quality, but the BB2 wins in range and flight time. If you get the Spark make sure to get extra batteries which is an additional cost. BB2 batteries are like $50-60 last time I checked and I think 2 is plenty. That's 40-50 minutes of flight time.

well the reason is so underrated as more then awful photo/video quality , had one , could not live with such terrible video quality so taking on holiday to film is out of question but flying and just flying for fun is ok . Most people buy drones not o fly about but to film and take photos .

I haven't ever had a problem with the app. Nothing at all, not even a crash, but I'm using iPhone. I've only heard of guys having problems running Android. Also, the app was just updated this month, but I haven't tried it out yet.

This is a common question and after a couple of years now I'm pretty sure there is no way to change it. I believe it is based on the regional settings in your phone. No one has confirmed whether that works or not.

Hit the land button when its 3 feet off the ground and it will make a softer landing. The propellers don't shut off immediately they give it to soft landing you can even do it for much higher

Hey thanks for the nice comment. The one thing I don't think I indicated in this video is that range is better in less densely populated areas. It can be limited when flying in areas with a lot of wifi interference. Otherwise this is a great drone especially for the price these days. They're probably a little harder to find now though.

Reason #1 is: I'm still gathering knowledge on how I want to film my ideas, angles of capture, actual camera and lens knowledge etc. I do however have completed film scripts. @@GadgetInspector That's great ! I don't blame you for getting the Anafi. That's the one I wanted back in 2018 or whenever it was they came out. I think I had bought my Bebop 2 just prior to Anifi's release, not sure. I wanted that 4K camera but didn't want to spend the extra $$$ at the time. I just ordered a spare battery for the Bebop 2, being that I have no idea how much longer the original will last. I haven't done anything special for storing the original batter and I'm thrilled it's holding up as I remembered from 2019/ It seems to me that somebody would have come up with a 4K camera replacement option for the Bebop 2 by now. I'd buy it if it wasn't too expensive.

Oh, that shows up when the SkyController 2 is not pointed in the direction of the quad. The side that it shows up on is the direction the controller should be facing.

mine was returned to home with 30% of battery and direct line was over a swimming pool halfway across it decided it had had enough and came down in the pool it continued to film for 3 seconds underwater .took me 6 months to repair .

Yep, A and B are for photo and video. I don't believe you need to download any drivers.

If you switch the signal from 2.4ghz to 5.8ghz you should be able to receive the signal with your phone and goggles at the same time.

Best review and first were a review is not rushed. Most important, I like how you kept your shots smooth, most drone reviewers would either be fast clips, turns etc. I plan to get my drone as well so this was really helpful.

Nope, no obstacle avoidance. The Spark has front facing sensors.

You have to push the stem in almost like you're pushing it into the mount. Then you will be able to turn it.

GI you mentioned the bebop taking a while to wifi transfer the video/pics from the drone to the phone. It is slow but I found that you can run a cable from the drone to the phone just as you would from the drone to the computer and its a bit faster to transfer files. I have an LG smartphone that takes a micro USB C cable so I bought a micro USB C to a micro USB cable to connect the two and it transfers the files right over.

Hello, nice video. However, how do you manage to get your Bebop 2 to reach 2k (1.2 miles) range. My drone has never gone more than 350 meters before I lose connectivity.. Sometimes my Bebop disconnects at 200 meters. But achieve a range of 2k ? In my dreams.

ScabsNabs What’s up ScabsNabs? The 1.2 miles is really only achievable when in unpopulated areas. If you’re flying in areas where there is interference from other WiFi signals that will greatly reduce your range. I get the best range when nothing is around me for a couple hundred meters and very few buildings with WiFi and other interference coming from them. Also, I have found that standing close behind obstacles like tall trees can also limit range. If you have the skycontroller 2 just make sure you keep it pointed in the direction of the drone and that will help. Otherwise you really just need to fly in more wide open areas.

Here's how I always connect: (1) power on the BB2 and wait until the light on the drone goes solid, (2) push the power button on the controller and wait until it goes solid green, (3) then plug the usb cable into your phone and controller and launch freeflight pro. Make sure your phone is in airplane mode as well. Question, is your phone super super old?

Is the bebop 2 the best drone for the money and pictures taking, great gos my understanding, I knew have the contixo f10 ++ so i am learning, my goal is to take great aerial shots while having control, is the bebop 2 a good one

I'm always hesitant to call something best, mainly because I haven't tested all of the other similar drones out there. But I can tell you that the BB2 is a darn good bird for the money. It's my favorite bird mainly for smooth video but you can take nice pics as well. The quality won't be as good as from a DJI product, but it's still pretty good. Can the parrot Bebop 2 operate on the Headless mode? I have gotten used to using this mode because I am unable to see where drones are pointing. If no headless mode, is there a workaround?

Unfortunately no headless mode. The best thing to do is to fly slowly (camera mode) for a while and maintain your orientation with the FPV feed. That will always let you know which way the bird is facing. As an aside, I would grab a toy grade quadcopter and learn orientation with it without headless mode. Here's how I learned: fly square formations over and over. Fly forward, yaw to the left, fly forward, yaw to the left, fly forward, etc until you've flown in the shape of a square. Then do the reverse to the right. That will get you used to flying with the head/front of the quad in different positions. It really helped me and now it's second nature.

This one would be fine for that or something like the Spark. The Mavic Mini would be good just because of the low price point, but it does have some advanced features as well.

I honestly didn't do anything special. It has always been in imperial for me. I would think it is based on your regional settings in your phone, but I'm not sure.

If you have the SkyController 2 and are using it you have to connect it to your phone via USB 100% of the time. That is the only way to get max range. You can fly with you phone by itself, but range will be greatly limited. I have never flown mine with just the phone once, always with the controller.

Hey Scott from all the way across the pond, thanks for stopping by. Not sure if it comes across well in the video, but at the 6:26 mark I try to show how the trees are blowing around like crazy yet you can see how smooth and stable the footage remains. The BB2 does bobble around a little when it is really windy, but it fights wind amazingly well and remains pretty stable. I'm fairly impressed by how it performs.

Thanks! Just got mine....The sky controller 2 wouldnt connect to my samsung galaxy note 4 via the usb for some reason,(the wifi worked though). So I bought a 10.1" tablet and its fine now...Do I need to keep my internet connection on for gps? Seems like I have trouble loading the gps maps if I dont...My tablet is gps enabled,but I have to connect it to a internet connection to get the maps working ,if I don't,when I tap on the map icon at lower left on free flight pro,it just stays blank.....

Depending on the device, turning Airplane mode on will shut off all signals. To avoid that, you can just manually turn off wifi and bluetooth leaving your data on. That should keep your maps current and GPS enabled.

The props come color coded so the yellow ones correspond with the yellow stickers on the motors and the same for the blue.

Sorry for all the questions but do you think parrot will ever add a return to home high setting and RTH battery voltage automatically? I'm pretty sure they could do it with a firmware update... the drone is so fun to fly and adding these to functions would make this a very, very good drone for the price.

Gadget Inspector shame. I would love my parrot more if these safety measures were included. I'm definitely hearing towards selling this and getting a phantom. Mainly for peace of mind. Don't get me wrong the bebop 2 is a very good toe wetter and starter drone for this kind of stuff. Loving your videos on the bebop 2 by the way. very honest and informative. Honestly it's your videos that made me decide to try the bebope for my first real shop build GPS drone.

Parrot includes a legend/map for the SkyController controls in the FreeFlight Pro app. On the main screen click on the controller icon. It will then show you which buttons and triggers do what.

Hi, I have a bebop 2 which I really enjoy flying. Just a question regarding setting flight altitude. If for example I set 60 feet does the drone fly at 60 feet for the whole flight plan in relation to its take off area or does it keep 60 feet n relation to the ground directly under it. .? Yep, you most certainly can. I honestly haven't tried it with the BB2 yet, but I have with other drones. It's not my favorite way to fly because you don't get the tactile feel and response from physical sticks. I also find it more difficult to maneuver. With that said, if you're just doing slow deliberate maneuvers its fine. Also, range is greatly limited since you're not getting the wifi booster built into the Skycontroller. I also plan to use just my phone to do stuff like follow me while riding my mountain bike, so it's perfect for stuff like that.

I believe it has all the same flight modes. I don't think I've seen 360 panorama though. However, I haven't flown mine since the weather turned crappy, so I haven't dug into the new features too much yet. Can't wait till spring.

I like both drones so I would still buy both. Glad I got the BB2 first based on my budget and the Spark is different enough to be a nice addition to the fleet. It really depends on which features are most important to you if you're deciding on one or the other. I got the Spark for the compact convenience and camera quality, the BB2 is a really good all around drone with great flight planning and sports mode.

Everyone I've asked seems to believe it is determined by the regional settings in your phone or tablet. If it is set to a country that uses the imperial system, the FFPro app will present everything in feet. Try it and post whether that works or not. That way I'll know whether to recommend it or not.

Old School R/C It’s similar to the DJI products. This links the controller to the app/phone so that you’re using the controllers transmission strength. If you don’t link them by usb the video feed would cut out well before the control range.
