There was something very special about the Parrot Bebop 2. I used to watch all of these videos from Helder Hugo, and learned so much back in the day. Because of him, I purchased the Sky Controller 1 to pair up with my Bebop 2, and I had a blast with it. I have since moved on to DJI drones, but man was that Bebop 2 fun to fly, it was very sturdy, and it was ALWAYS, very reliable, lose signal, and it ALWAYS came back to me. Just a great drone. Never had any issues with it.

i purchased the bebop2 a few months ago, when i saw the skycontroller 1 i had to have it! but did want to pay no $300 for it...so yesterday i found a bebop on Facebook market place and got it for $50 with 3 batteries..this morning i saw another bebop 1 for sale with the skycontroller 1 so i hooked up with the guy and got both with 6 batteries for $100 dollars...2 scores!! now i have to tell the wife!! *GULP*! Skycontroller 1 made 2.36KM connection (8:18) and Skycontroller 2, 2.4Km (21:11) . Controller 2 being so much smaller makes it my choice and IMO a wiser, better one to have. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

I would have said the dropping in signal on Sky Controller 2 (aka SC2) is due to the smaller Antenna, as the Sky Controller 1 as a much larger Antenna area, thus keeping more in touch with the Drown! I prefer the SC1 any day over the SC2, yes it’s bulky but in my eyes for good reason. Main due to the size of the Antenna, the larger and bigger the Antenna size the further the range! On another note, Great KZbin Clips, love the way you talk to yourself and curse yourself for no reason haha! Nice to know it isn’t just me that does it! We all have our moments or ways of dealing with the way we react to issues in life, not matter how large or small. Great English, not once, have I misunderstood you! Keep up the good work! Jamie you're a fucking idiot, the antenna size is a gimmec. It's just a piece of plastic that no way affects the range of the signal. Both controllers have the SAME number of wifi extenders under the black plastic. Each controller has 4 so shut the fuck up about big and small the plastic makes no god damn difference you dumbass. As a beginner and using the first parrot bebop i found it definitely risky since i think these 1st generation looks like is not listening as good as yours. every time i hit return home for example , it goes up 20 meters up ..and then looks like is coming back home but at a such high speed that both time i had to override it.

If your Geofence is enabled it will fly home with RTH even if you turn off your controller altogether, The Drone knows when its disconnected and will RTH in the Specified Time you have set it to in the Interface. RTH Technology has been around for a long time now

Are you using WiFi from the tablet to connect to your Bebop? If so that is not the proper way to use the Skycontroller 2, I always use airplane mode on my Samsung Galaxy and Connect to the Bebop using the sky controller only. That is the way I was instructed to use the controller with the Bebop by Parrot support and I have zero issues with control or distance, certainly I travel much further than the days where I used WiFi from my phone for control. I will head out this weekend (weather permitting) and see if I can beat 2.4 kilometers.

Thank you. I use a OTG Pen directly connected in the Bebop 2. In the end of the transfer it beeps the 4 motors as you ear on the video.

Angus Whitehouse exactly what do you prefer about parrot drones comparatively? Is it the limited 8GB of onboard memory? The drastically shorter rc range? Significantly longer fpv latency? I own products from both companies and once I bought my mavic and phantom, I haven't taken my bebops out of storage once.

wogfun must disagree on many of your statements. I would go for a mavic but was comparing to dji 3rd 4 which the parrot crap on in range. The gymble is an annoyance nothing more. But with the limit ions that dji are putting in their software is another reason. Like apple junk for the price you buy but are restricted in what you can do before you leave the ground. Do you editing properly and for less then half the price a go anywhere impossible to kill drone. I hate apple for the same reason I hate dji over priced when you can get better quality with no restrictions cheaper. Not talk parrot but building. for what little i can pay for a used drone package, i find bebops to bop the shit out of everything else including Dumb Jealous Idiots. sure dji can make pretty nice drones but not for a beginner on a tight budget. for the cost of used parrot products, they offer the most bang for your buck. ive never seen bebop 2 footage i wasnt impressed with and 1.7 miles (dustin dunhill) of range is probably a mile more than ill ever need. as for the 8gb of memory, thats for uninformed pecker heads to complain about.

Angus: Agree with you say. I think DJI, somehow being the pioneer of real "everyone's drone" and the first serious name in market, felt the threat of market and significant move against the drone's existence and market, so they had to handicap their product to keep it going. Thus the inclusion of No Man's Flight Zone and etc. in their fundamental of software, with no easy hack option. But the fact of the matter is that drones are here to stay and only thrive in logarithmic proportion. So I hope DJI can recognize this change and respond accordingly, once more, but in a right direction.

Billy: You have a very valid point for Aug 2018 or may be several months earlier. With the decline in price of Parrots, whether it is because of Anafi or DJI's dominance of the market, the ration of features / price or in another word, bang for the buck, is significantly better for Bebop parrot rather than later generation Phantoms or Mavic, both hands down. For a simple repair of DJI, you can buy another Bebop that gives you all the essence of what a DJI can. So the choice for a wise person is clear.

Interesting test and surprised that the two controllers have similar fpv range but SC2 did connect back quicker after signal was lost. Would it not be better if doing a range test by setting video at 720p or set to standard definition which might give fpv a better range. I wonder if switching to camera mode on take off and not record video it would improve fpv range even further? The sky controller 2 GPS issues might require the controller to be recalibrated and check to make sure the tablet/phone is in airplane mode with the GPS switched off before take off, to make sure there is no interference from the tablet or phone, on controller's GPS, which I understand is recommended by Parrot.

Skycontroller 1 is conected to the tablet via WiFi. With Skycontroller 2 is with the USB cable. HDMI is for connecting a vr goggles or like a tv screen with HDMI.
