I had exactly the same problem today. I launched the Disco, I had no control over it whilst it was in flight so it just circled around, got lower eventually and stopped by hitting a tree. Thanks Parrot. Great 1st flight. Now waiting for the technical support to tell me how to fix it. Glad I'm not the only one!

Put the take off altitude to 5m and take over, Landing can be done by yourself as well, just before it touches the ground u have to push the button.This thing is a joy to fly and no, it doesnt fly away :-)

omg just follow the manual. This is not a multicopter and it needs some speed to stay in the air. The auto take off just makes sure that you do not stall it during take off. What you want is a modell plane, not a drone with a decent degree of automization.
@FlyersDistrict6 жыл бұрын

I commented already but this video was again recommended to me. So I have to comment again. Most Multicopter do exact the same thing. You hit start and they will start to hover 1m above the ground. Then you take control. And still I have not seen a Multicopter were you control each rotor individually. ...
@FlyersDistrict6 жыл бұрын
I have not seen a multi copter that takes off without the pilot being able to override the take off. The inability to override a flying machine is just not a good idea. When I made this video this wing cost over $1,300, now they're around $400.
@midnightindigo23647 жыл бұрын
I do believe you are wrong my friend, I think you can connect another RC remote like a ds6i or any multi channel remote like that to the disco and then fly it fully manually. But you are right that it does not come with a remote that you can use to manually fly it with.

I don't really know what you where expecting? Parrot makes toys and try's to make them so that anybody can fly their products! Have you seen some of the features when it is actually flying? I mean it's cool that something like this exists and somebody has developed it but I really don't see who this is for other than somebody's first couple of flights? That's a very expensive toy for the short period of time it is useful...

Thomas Perkins I think the wing is cool, but for people that haven't flown before

Hell, for $1,300 you can find someone who'll build you a well-spec'd wing with transmitter, battery, goggles and everything. What's more, he'll test fly it and make sure it works. The Parrot seems a little expensive for what it is and I can't wait for folk to throw these things in "auto takeoff" from downtown Manhattan. Casey -- do you have one yet? :-)

And here explained why parrot don’t want produce anymore this fantastic product!!!!!!! Because of people like you who don’t want understand that’s not a device for a beginners. I was also Afraid the first time, but before unpack it, I watched over 100 videos of disco crashes. Learn from the mistakes of others and you will fly safe. Probably you will still have bit of agitation but you will control it. Remember don’t mess up with the sticks; right stick pilot the disco, left stick only for make it circle autonomously.

@fastskis7 жыл бұрын
Very untrue.....I have over 50 flights with the Parrot Disco and it performs perfectly. I also have a DJI Phantom 3 and a Spark. People think these drones just fly out of the box. No....it takes great attention to detail and careful practice and flying in appropriate locations and appropriate weather conditions. These are not toys! You are a typical example of people who want instant gratification with no knowledge of the technology you buy. I only paid 750 Canadian for mine and it is a solid piece of tech. Don’t bother reviewing tech you obviously have no idea how to use. Your video clearly illustrates this period.

Hi Alex, I enjoy your videos, so I was particularly disappointed that you were flippant with the Disco. I do hope you will do a proper review to tell us what it feels like to fly. Is it an immersive experience? (To the people who say the Disco is just a toy, remember that it is a mash-up of the bebop 2 and the ebee, which is a highly-regarded 20k$ professional UAV. )

I'm almost certain you didn't pay for that wing. That being said, I guarantee you you've already done the research and know what the point of them developing that wing was. To bring FPV to people that were otherwise nervous and afraid of spending $1000-$2000 in equipment, and destroying it immediately. I'm not interested in fixed wing flight, I'm a multi rotor and help guy, so that product isn't for me anyway, but you knew damn well what it was intended for.

haha just let go man put some faith in it and enjoy the Disco like so many of us have... Or are you just trying to stir the pot and make a mountain out of a mole hill. The auto take off is a direction DJR went with and it works fine. if you don't like it just state that and get on with the review! Try it and review it. not go on about that you can't manually take off and pretty much deliver nothing on this review. pointless review. If you are still a nervous nanny, buy a Hubson Sky Hawk, cheaper, Manual control and just about the same amount of effort to put it together. then you might be able to finish what you started.
@tugasub6 жыл бұрын
So much fuss over nothing. If you want to disable all the auto take off and landing functions of the CHUCK just use your own radio and receiver instead of the Skycontroler. But again if you don't want or need a rc wing with UAV capabilities, this product is not definitely for you. I'm for so long trying to save money to buy one of this wings for my self, then i see people don't have a slightest idea of what they get, or why they get, then they make a bs review, of a product they don't even know. Seriously?

think I would rather duct tape an action cam to a gas powered old school Rc plane than this thing. copters are much more useful for cameras.
