Hey bud oh yes she is a proper distance muncher. This field is approx 450ft to 500ft across (measured not very precisly with my Spark) and this Disco makes it look like I'm flying in a 1x1cm patch lol. Thanks bud 👍😀
@gerrydixon99846 жыл бұрын
JD, with a bit of practise it is possible to land over a short distance, just press the landing button at a reasonable height to cut the motor, then you still have manual control to push the nose down and turn if possible, otherwise the motor will keep running. The disco will flare up and spin the motor briefly when it senses the ground. I recently was flying mine around Barmouth / Fairbourne beaches / estuary and landing on a small sandbank I was flying from. This is a wicked drone, gr8 fun to fly. Covered a total distance of 12,680m in 18 mins (max distance from position "line of sight" of 1000m after which it's just a dot in the distance) with 67% battery remaining. It's really easy to set up, couple of mins to plug in, link to phone,quick calibration of the drone and you are away.

Hey Gerry thanks for the tips mate, I love it straight away I fell in love with it, I'll keep on landing and see how much better I get. Tbh I was quite happy with the first one even if a little messy. Thanks bud 👍😀

Baseball field is large enough to fly this plane I do it all the time. if I press autoland somewhere above the shortstop position it'll land on first base. And circular landing on return to home it's large enough for baseball field. If I'm standing on second base as the starting point the circular pattern will be between home plate and the pictures mound and the outfield center position. First and third base is directly above the circular pattern.

Great Vid. I've Only bought one last Friday from Currys. Haven't flown it yet hence the weather. I live in Swansea. So i take it's not that far from you. Can't wait to get it out flying and looking at where we live from a whole new perspective. Currently using the Freeflight Pro App with my Bebop 2 but cant wait to try the Disco on the Auriga Bebop App with Head Tracking for FPV.

Thank you bud, yeah it's a beauty although the setup has gotten much easier since I'm glad to report. Thanks bud 👍
@tommyg9576 жыл бұрын
Jd, I would recommend taping the leading edge of those wings with duct tape, just the leading edge. This will help save you in a rough landing or if there is a small twig like weed where you are trying to land.

That was intense! I was as nervous as you ;) The setup in the app is exactly the same as the bebop and did take me a fair bit of time at first to sort out but once you have it sussed, it is much easier to setup. I need to start using a direct usb cable connection like you are as I currently connect my phone to the skycontroller via wifi, not had any problems doing it that way but it would be more secure using a cable! :) Sometimes the flat trim looks like it hasn't done anything, maybe because it was already fairly well trimmed, but the horizon does shift ever so slightly if it is out!
@jdquad6 жыл бұрын
Hey bud ah man I was so nervous taking this out, such a large plane with that level of automation at first was very intense. The second flight is much better as I was alot calmer. She really wants up distance and before you know it it was right over my head again. Yeah I have tried via WiFi a few times and I didn't feel confident with this plane as I couldn't hover or see it very well at distance. I would say it was better with a direct connection. Yeah that flat trim really had me going for a bit, but it was good and was straight, just wanted to do everything right first time, you know? Thank you buddy 👍😀
@pdtech45246 жыл бұрын
JD Quad I was the same flying my bebop at first but now my confidence levels are up and now I'm much happier with it :) Once the wifi is setup initially it should auto connect the next time you fly it. My phone just connects to the skycontroller via wifi not to the bebop! The skycontroller makes it's own connection to the bebop. So if you take your hands off the controls does it circle around you or where ever it is?
@jdquad6 жыл бұрын
That is the beauty of the sky controllers same as DJIs Spark transmitters they broadcast their own connections. Makes things much easier when it comes to flight. Still though, hard wired is my preference where available. 😉

I have a question about the speed. When you lower the left stick to slow it down, since the stick will return to center ,will the Disco stay at the slower speed or return to normal speed ?
@jdquad6 жыл бұрын
Hey Bruce the Disco alters it speed automatically to take environmental factors into account. If you lower the stick and the speed reduces it will increase by itself if it feels it needs more power but the speed of set by you will stay slightly lower until you turn her when it will speed up again. Thanks bud 👍😀

How does it handle in wind
@jdquad6 жыл бұрын
Hi On my door step it is rated to work in 22+mph winds, i have only ever flown her in up to 15 mph (no gusts) and it was very stable, easy to manoeuvre and at most i didn't feel that it was dangerous in any way. Hope that helps bud :-)
@georgeschichtle86676 жыл бұрын
@@jdquad can you point me to where i could purchase one of these? it seems maybe they use to be accessible but then taken off the market? i'm not fully sure, but having a hard time finding one, if you could help i'd greatly appreciate it.
@liljohnnie695 жыл бұрын
I've flown mine in 20mph + winds and it struggles and moves around a bit going into the wind but turn it around and fly with the wind and I have attained a top speed of close to 70mph.

May or may not be applicable but I just purchased and have been using an Amazon Basics Gen 2 Data/Charging Cable, very robust, on my Mavic Pro. May be available for iphone also. Seems to have helped so far, noticed improved signal and was able to livestream from the Mavic on facebook from a location I had problems with before. Worth a look. Love the Disco and its capabilities. We all need to push manufacturers to improve their products, especially reviewers, to include features that are currently available. Allowing them to continue selling sub par products and reviewing them as proper or ok is not going to push them to improve their products in my opinion, for example having to mod antennas or use a wifi booster to get decent range that only costs a consumer 15-20$ should be already included in the production of said drones. Another easy one is only including one battery in the package. If we all continue to call a duck a duck maybe things will improve. Glad you have this beaitiful bird, its a perfect example of a quality product, safe, and fairly affordable. Enjoy :)
@jdquad6 жыл бұрын
Another good shout fella thank you. Yes I agree, how can products improve if people testing don't say it as it is? They can't in short. I love this product, well designed, well researched and thought about from conception to completion although I was very nervous flying it to begin with, but that's not parrots fault lol. Thanks bud 👍😀

Wow!. Amazing vid and what awesome size this is. Being a plane though it would annoy me that it has to keep moving unlike a drone you can hold it steady in one position. And that battery life is in a league of its own. I feel like my Tello is a ZX Spectrum now compared to that. I've just got the Parrot Bepop (I couldn't resist!) so let's see how I get on with that.
@jdquad6 жыл бұрын
Hey bud oh you are going to love that bebop matey a good drone indeed. Yes it can feel a bit strange having no hover function, but you can get used to that pretty quickly. Thanks matey :-)
@CKone416 жыл бұрын
Hi You don't need to connect the WiFi just turn on the drone and controller let them connect then plug in your phone it will automatically connect and open the app then you are ready to fly You only need to connect WiFi if you don't want to fly with the controller The instruction with the disco are wrong I absolutely love mine I am going to fit a chuck into a normal plane

If Boeing had put Chucks in their 737-max, they wouldn’t be in such a deep shit...;) The Disco is really an incredible PLANE, if people consider it as a hovering camera (quadcopter) they would be disappointed... Enjoy it while the regulation allows you to...
