My umbrella never ever screamed at night. He would pull the cage cover over and say Hello if someone went to the kitchen at night. We just said I love you, night night. That's it

How sweet! What happened to him? Wish he could teach our girl to just say Hello at night!

My caiques are very much like children😂 like little bipolar children! None of my other birds needed the time and attention that these little guys do. And even though they have each other they are very much a part of our flock they very insistently need to be around us and on us a lot I spend a lot of time with them. I was hoping by getting a second caique that my WBC would spend a lot of time with her and she does but like I said they still very much want to be a part of absolutely everything we do here at home😂

No doubt, they probably think they are people! Ours Caiques are the same - they like being in the middle of everything, especially if there is food!

Rax will scream at night if he thinks I've gone to bed and left him alone with the lights on. I never do... but he's determined I never will, either. So long as we do our night time routine (hugs and kisses and turn the lights off in the right order) he's perfectly quiet till morning. The wild cockatoos (SCs) at my place rarely make any noise at night, but larger flocks of little corellas will murmur a bit and make contact calls, especially on moonlit summer nights. I've had a family of 6 sulphur-cresteds living above my new shade garden for 6 weeks now; 2 adults, 2 sub-adults and 2 chicks.... weaned but still getting a couple of feeds a day from parents. Sometimes the grown-ups fly off for some adult time and leave the chicks in the tree above where I'm working. They know they're safe from predators (like our resident brown falcons and wedge-tailed eagles) if they're close by me.

I wondered about that, if wild Cockatoos would scream in the night. So, Rax does too - if you do things in the wrong order. They like routine! And once the babies are a couple of weeks, I see the parents come out to fly, relax, get a break! It's sweet. I think they deserve the break. They work 24 hours a day, especially mom, from the egg-incubating to the feeding.

I didn’t choose the cockatoo life, the cockatoo life chose me… at the shelter 😊 my girl chose us!

Nice video! Sometimes I feel like golden conures are socially and hormonally like cockatoos! Harry definitely was a cockatoo in another life hahah. Btw send news about your golden, how is being your male experience during hormonal season? Harry is being super active and growing. He will turn 3 this year, he is getting close to maturity and is starting to change his personality. A bit less crazy and understanding more about boundaries. But there are days, omg, he seems to be intentionally doing everything on his power to get attention, throwing everthing away flying around, destroying all my shirt buttons hahaha. Would love to know about your experience too.

I love watching your videos. I have a question. I have a quaker who is approximately eight months old and she doesn’t play with anything. She has started saying some words but I’m trying to get her to play with toys and she’s afraid of everything. I was wondering if you had any advice as togetting her interested in playing with toys?

Get small toys, shredding toys, my quaker came with his favorite toy, it's actually a cat toy an open cage like ball. My quaker taught my ringneck to play with the ball too.

Toys aren't "natural" to parrots the way enrichment is. If you have pesticide-free and non-toxic trees you can cut small branches from (including the leaves), give these. ALL my parrots love biting the leaves, taking the bark off... If you want your parrot to play with toys, like Jojo said, get shredding toys. This is the real purpse of a toy, parrots are nature's recycler. They like breaking wood down. It's good for their beaks. Thank you for watching my vids!
