Roshni, so so so sorry, I'm commenting only now. I "liked" your recipe the 1st time I used it some months back, and I've used it two more times since then and the pulao turns out AMAZING EVERY TIME!! Here in Aus, lamb is more available than mutton, and this recipe got me eating lamb and got me comfortable cooking with it! Thanks so much! Super!!

It is a regular Indian Pressure cooker which is 5 litres in capacity - you can look up prestige pressure cookers

Hey Roshini! I love your recipes and use them on a daily basis. Just wondering if you're able to also include the pressure cook time for those of us who only use instant pots for pressure cooking. Pressure cookers are not always easily accessible in North America.

Hi Khush, I usually cook on high until the 1st whistle and then turn the heat to medium for 12 minutes - this is for pressure cooker. However for Instapot you will have to cook it on pressure mode for 15 minutes - let me know how it turns out 😊

You can take 2 litres water because we are going to discard the excess water once the rice is 80% done

Hey I had a few doubts... Are the pulao spices dry roasted before coarsely grinding them? When cooking the mutton in the pressure cooker...are we to have the 4 to 5 whistles on low or low medium flame? And lastly, during the final phase won't the bottom rice get burn if cooked at medium high for 15 mins?🤔 Alternatively I was thinking you would seal it or cover it and then cook on low on a tawa to ensure mild continuous heat? Thanks for the recipe :)

Hi Ben , the pulao spices don’t have to be roasted The pressure cooker 1 whistle on high heat then turn the heat to medium for the rest The rice is put at the bottom so that the pulao mutton masala does not burn The pot has to be covered tightly with a lid where no steam evaporates and cooked on medium low as mentioned in the video If your pot is thick it will not burn, but if it is thin then you can place it on a Tawa - I hope this has helped you 😊 happy cooking
