Thanks a lot for the video, my jeep patriot kept going into limp mode only in cold temperatures . I couldn't figure out why this was happening it had no codes. The temperature warmed up and it ran fine, cold again and limp mode. So I took a can of carb cleaner and sprayed intake manifold while jeep was running and stalled engine. A 6.00 dollar manifold gasket fixed limp mode issue and video saved me 400.00 dollars in labor. Thanks great video.

Thank you. I had the P2017 and followed your directions to remove and clean. Not a terrible job to get done in an afternoon. Looks like you would need to pull the intake manifold to replace the starter as well. Excellent instructions. Thanks again.

please help. i have a 2011 jeep compass 2.4 with the cvt trans. the car was running rough at times, no codes. after a couple months had a code that said throttle body was bad. i replaced the throttle body and check engine light went out and the car ran great. after a couple days the car started running rough again but no check engine light. note: when i replaced the throttle body i noticed some liquid in the intake. i thought it was fuel and just soaked it up with a rag. could there be a leak somewhere? can coolant get into the intake? could it need a intake gasket or something? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2012 avenger. Issue I'm having is a random hard start. I need to press gas pedal to get turn over. Sometimes 10-20 times starting car. I Have 0171. Replaced map, pcv, o2 and air temp sensor. My last guess is.clogged fuel injector. Any suggestions?

@ MotorCity Mechanic the bottom part of my airtake assembly box wont come up as easily, there too big ass screws or bolts that have it anchored down i saw them in this video but yours wasn’t even attached to them how do get those off to make space to get the right side of intake manifold? Hi, I have a Sebring 2008 2.4L. the engine light came on with the codes P2017 and P2004. My mechanic changed the intake manifold runner, MAP sensor, and he cleaned intake manifold (he changed gasket),and throttle body. After two weeks the light came on. My car runs fine. But I have to do the smog check. Helppp

Thank you for the video, what was the problem leading to replace the intake manifold? Also in my avenger there is oil leak through intake manifold gasket, is it normal to see oil leak through there? Not to mention I have no check engine, but I do notice a bad fuel economy.

It should leak that oil can demage the engine overtime

Personally I only recommend the OEM Mopar parts when you can. Contact your local dealer and give them your VIN and get the part number and price from them. Then go online and google the part number and see what the wholesale dealers offer it for....typically they are cheaper even with shipping. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe

does the avenger have a MAF sensor? i read somewhere that it either has a MAP OR MAF. so which is it ? thanks in advance for any help.

It uses a MAP sensor. There are very few vehicles that Chrysler have a MAF system. So MAP is what you have. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe

Does anyone know where the Oil Pressure is in a 2.4 L 2008 Dodge Avenger. I cannot find it.

The oil pressure sensor is located on the same side of the block as the A/C compressor. The service info states that you need to remove the A/C compressor inorder to get to it. Hope that helps and thanks for watching the video. Make sure to subscribe

MotorCity Mechanic so I was able to take the ac compressor off and I did find the oil pressure sensor. However it was very difficult to take off the electrical connection. So I think I'm going to try and remove the intake manifold instead to have easier access.

GRose31399 The connector most likely has a secondary lock that you need to side so that you can squeeze the connector to remove it. It might be red in color and either needs to be slid to the side or up do that it can be release.

The issue was with the intake runner valve. I don't remember the actual code #.

The red clips are a secondary lock. As long as the connector still locks on then you are okay and no need to worry. Those red clips break from time to time and some come in without them on due to having broke some time in the past. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
