This video is ten years old. It is monumentally depressing that doctors who treat this disease have no idea about this research.

Wow, I just came across this - parts 1,2 and 3 - and can say I have never heard more promising explanations for causes of fibromyalgia. Yet it is 11 years since the final video in this series came out and I am still treated like a psychiatric patient. Why hasn't the medical field used any of this valid information to develop valid treatments? It has to be money!! No money to big pharma if a person's fibromyalgia cause is diagnosed and treated properly. Big pharma would lose millions of customers (not "patients" but "customers") being treated with those "30%" medications that he mentioned. I sure wish I lived in the vicinity where Dr. Patrick W. Woods practices. No doctor that I have ever seen has this kind of knowledge about all the possible underlying causes of fibromyalgia. Certainly no one is willing to do brain MRIs while testing all the variables he reviewed in the videos. It's better for the medical field and pharmaceutical companies to keep people sick, so they keep returning for more dr. visits where they are repeatedly dismissed, ignored and/or gaslighted. But the doctor collects from the insurance & from the patient, and continues scheduling repeated follow ups while nothing changes for the patient except possibly the newest medications, which provide additional "kick-backs" to the medical practice. Fibromyalgia is not known to be life threatening, so it is not lucrative to actually heal these patients. There is no money to be made in actually working to reveal the true underlying cause and treat it properly. The medical practice and big pharma would lose way too many income-generating customer.

I am also a patient for the wonderful, intelligent doctor from Seattle...I was with him for about 18 months before he moved. If you live close to him and his practice. He treated me for fibromyalgia....he is a trained fibromyalgia specialist and researcher...the first time I went to him I felt free...he listened to me...talked to me...I thought of him as a friend and a savior that I had been looking for for 17 years....he is a godsend......I will never find another doctor like you..Rita Cornish

Is this the same Dr. Wood who wrote "Proposed Models of Fibromyalgia Sub-types" in the Practical Pain Management publication? If so, looking for similar Dr. , nearby, to consider Dopamine uptake therapy (in Ohio or midwest)

You don't know me but I want you to say " Thank You". I get it. Your information has helped me understand and work though this. I have FM, IBS and CF. My symptoms started in Oct. 2010. Shortly after I was diagnosed with FM, I found this KZbin and I think it should be shown to anyone one that has FM. So that they can better understand how to care for themselves better. I just make sense. Thank you again.

Seeing this has given me new hope! BTW Hari, God always gives you a confirmation. Consider this a valid proposition, HIGHLY recommended. ❤

Dear Dr. Wood: If you by chance see this, I'm one of your patients from Seattle. You're a rockstar, and I hope we cross paths again. I'm still thinking about whether "God is a valid proposition", as you recommended. ;) Harriet
