This reading of Herriot is superb. The reader has a wonderfully versatile style, and the emotions inherent in the text are beautifully delivered. A large dose of nostalgia has hit me, longing for a place and time so well portrayed.

Wonderful, this is one of the few James Herriot books I haven't read so many thanks as always. BTW - there is an audio cut from 0:41-1:27 It's not essential but thought I'd give you the heads up.

Sorry, it was taken out by KZbin for copyright claim

@@lucheel No worries, a small sacrifice to the copyright gods is better than its entire removal! Loved Part one! Many thanks as always.

Coyright claim? So there was music. Stop trying to interfere in the story process. It's clumsy verging on dopey.

Good Reader but waaay to fast. Mr. Herriot with his gentle character would have never spoken like that. Thank you for making it possible to listen to these fascinating stories.

yes, and he should have a Scottish accent , never understood why they didn't cast a Scot in the TV series, when I first read the books a Scots accent is what I heard.
