Don't you people understand that people listen to audiobooks in bed at night when going to sleep? WHY do you put on high pitched beeping, screeching, clanging horrendously LOUD ads that are jarring, irritating and utterly infuriating? The ear-splitting, hatchet-in-the-head electronic BEEPS in the At Home ads are so enraging and so horrible that one is instantly determined NEVER to set foot in that store. This audiobook is really ruined by a constant assault on the nerves by non-stop, horrible ads.

There are zero ads of any kind with ad block. Well worth the cost. Then u can quit the complaining that acts like the annoying ads you take such umbrage at subjecting everyone to unnecessarily...so annoying reading like rank unkind, out of place inconsiderate of the work others did as a free generous gift to you while asking nothing in return. A heartfelt thank you is in order. Not to mention the well derserved "I'm sorry".

Yes , the author was Scottish [Alf White] but his working life was spent in Yorkshire .
