I agree with Loni that the spike is due to people checking out his music because they hadn't heard it, just curiosity.
@badddd5 жыл бұрын
Or they just love his music. He was the King of RnB for over almost 2 decades. His ex wife says she still supports him musically and listens to him. So if she aint muting R Kelly then its not fair to put the owness on everyone else. And just because you listen to a song dont mean you like/admire them as a person or agree to what they do.

Jennie is on the mark! It's become so normalized that we don't see it as a problem.
@zazabrown7325 жыл бұрын
It's not about it being normalized. At the end of the day, none of us has been in his presence long enough to know the real him or what he truly does to women. FEW people are going to drastically change their behaviour off rumours. Also for those who are slightly older, a lot of R Kelly's old hits are tied to our teen/coming of age memories (e.g. first dance, first time, high school /college years etc) so regardless of what the man may have done, you're not going to wipe out the nostalgia attached to certain songs.

While you make a few valid points, you have gone to an unsubstantiated extreme by lumping homosexuality and interracial coupling into this matter @@jackpea7102 , goodness! While everyone is entitled to their opinions, your clearly biased view on gay people and interracial couples does not validate your arguments by even the slightest iota. While certain churches and other bigoted organizations like to incorrectly spew that homosexuality is a learned or conditioned "behavior", science and simple common sense has shown otherwise. Gay people have existed since the beginning of time (Biblical days mind you), and in EVERY corner of the globe, even places where it was and still is punishable by death, no questions asked. If you actually educated yourself on the matter, you would realize that gay people don't just wake up and decide to choose this & in fact, most don't want to be gay at all - which is why so many live a lie for as long as they can, and try not to be who they are. Humans have also always inter-married; when not between different races, they inter-married/procreated inter-culturally and between nationalities and such. Borders, laws, families disowning them and other methods of prevention has never been able to stop this, (or entirely stop gay people from being who they are). So whether these human realities are encouraged or not, they have always happened throughout history and will always continue to happen, whether you approve or not. So rather than put so much energy into trying to stop people from loving each other, perhaps folks with your mindset could re-direct that frustration into helping people come together against actual, real threats, and make this world a better place for those who are suffering needlessly.

He was abused as a child and like so many who’ve experienced abuse he became the abuser. Instead of using his platform to help others with the same past or even protecting his children and wife he used his power to control and abuse. He needs help and to be locked up why is he still getting away with this?
@BlendedBarbieDoll5 жыл бұрын
He was abused and that is terribly unfortunate, but he has been caught multiple times and has taken it to a level where he literally has a cult of women, most people once they are caught that is their cry for help and they feel relieved. I remember being a teen about 16 or 17 and seeing that video with the 14 year old. Not completely understanding the severity of the situation. This was long before social media and the types of child porn laws they have now. Peeing in the mouth of a 14 year old is beyond being abused, this man is a deviant. He has allowed his demons to take over and doesn't want help.

I think that's another reason people need to have zero tolerance for lies. When my mom would clean she would became irrational and violent. I guess she became part of a cycle herself. The situation wasn't even , oh you're making a mess when I just cleaned, spank. It was.."you cleaned this slightly wrong" dun dun dun. BUT, at least she was honest, and had the balls to admit it's wrong and apologize. And when you do something That wrong it is extremely difficult to admit it. Because of her explaining that it isn't ok and talking about it; I really do believe that's why I was able to break the cycle. So at least she played a role in protecting her grandchildren from the cycle. (And, at least I only suffered the cycle of Physical abuse, sexual abuse is such a much more awful thing). Teach boys to respect women by not hitting others or tolerating yourself to be hit either. (I don't think the guys around him had much respect for women considering).

And I cannot respect or be friends with a person who would rather shy away from the fact that there is literally EVIDENCE of him dating / marrying younger girls... for instance him and Aaliyah ( may she Rest In Peace ❤️🙏🏾) she was 15 & he was 27... why couldn’t he date a WOMAN not a young girl ! It’s like he preys on these girls just to attack
@lacyedesouza21445 жыл бұрын
Myronn Coleman that is where his mental growth stops and why he can’t connect with a woman his age. Allegedly he went through some trauma as a child and when you’re introduced to something traumatic at a young age your can’t process it correctly so your mental growth is stunted. I don’t agree at all with what he has done, I’m just why he allegedly did those things. Also you tend to repeat what you learned as child in your adulthood.
@koffiam5 жыл бұрын
it only works if they ban his music online.. You cant stop somebody that got through some serious problems with his music to stop liking "The Music". He i the king of RnB (I am not a fan of his music but he got Hits on Hits) R kelly was abused as a child so of course nothing of what he did is good or understandable but the roots of the problem is in his childhood which he has nothing to do with it. Of course he could have done better growing up but sometime you don't get back from being traumatized as a child or do not get the appropriate help, Therefore others pays the consequences.

My take in it *people are gonna support whoever they want to despite what they have done. R.Kelly is no different. It just boils down to a person's character.* Look at trump he said all those nasty things about Mexican people and muslims and I'm neither but because my character I chose not to support him. George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin I seen pictures of disgusting people getting Arizona tea cans and skittles signed by him. So with R.Kelly it's no different. Most times people will never care about what a person does until it affects them or someone close. There is something off about this R.Kelly situation because how is he not in jail after all this. I've seen comments saying on Twitter and here that it's a distraction from the government shut down. Idk I'm always open to theories tho but I don't too much believe that one, but at the same time us common people will truly never know what goes on in the government or music industry or Hollywood
@chrissyk.98945 жыл бұрын
So true about people not caring until it affects them or someone close which is honestly sad. It shouldn’t take something especially something like this happening close to home for people to care about the young girls who were and are still being affected by this. Also I’ve heard the conspiracy about the shut down but the government shut down is still being talked about nationally in addition to R. Kelly. Commentary and elements surrounding the shutdown haven’t been put on the back burner bc of the R. Kelly thing. It just depends on where you watch your news bc some news reporting shows and sites are more likely to talk about news concerning entertainment arts as opposed to politics and vice versa.

So what does r Kelly meant wen he said “My MinD Is Telling Noooooo”🤔
@brittneystewart7235 жыл бұрын
To be 100% Real about it.... I wanted to look up his music so I could hear his lyrics now with open eyes to what he has done.... my fav song by him is “seems like your ready” I did not listen to the song again itself but I did look up lyrics on google. I think many of people just wanted to hear his music now knowing what we do about him. Not to jam along but to hear it in a different light now. I resisted looking up the songs an actually listening but I did look at lyrics. I don’t want jada to think we don’t care about ebony sisters. It’s just curiosity that is making us want to look up our old fav songs. I feel terrible for all those years was loving those songs. An very hurt knowing the lyrics were truth to his actions . It’s like a slap in the face to us female fans we were supporting a pedo all these years
@flutterby84625 жыл бұрын
Honestly, realising the truth of what was going on I think people were like A. Just wanting to rehear those lyrics and find the clues or not so subtle links to what he was doing. It’s a sad sad situation. It’s not about colour it’s about power. There are many men that are rich or have some type of social status (not just celebs but in all walks of life) that secretly take advantage of their influence on others. It’s disgusting and they need to finally face the real consequences of their gross actions.

Rah van Taaie What Jada meant is that black girls must not be worth much to people if they are still continuing to listen to R. Kelly’s music, despite what he’s done to black girls.
@AnaGonzalez07175 жыл бұрын
What Jada is saying is that we don’t care about these girls enough to not give more money to Kelly. When we listen to something, he gets royalties for it. He gets attention for it.

@somebodyoncetoldme57995 жыл бұрын
@@igothoes4sales814 but right now we're talking about how objectifying black women and neglecting their struggles is much more accepted right now. People are simply curious. If I was young, I'd probably go and listen to the songs to dissect and analyze who it could've been about and all that... but back then, we wouldn't be out there suddenly buying CD's en masse, it's just that streaming is very accessible, so yeah. If you are literally speaking about a song called Age Ain't Nothing About A Number, or Step In The Name Of Love or Trapped In The Closet or I Admit in a trending docu, people are going to check it out to analyze, dissect, put the timelines together and check for some tea. Nowadays all it takes is turning on your notebook or phone and stream the tune for free.

Pressing criminal charges long ago may have saved many women...there is a much bigger picture and motive here...

Everyone knows who r Kelly is and his music. His sales went up because of his fans. I feel the documentary failed because they failed to get one person who said yo I never wanted to be with him or anything from him. Every person said they had their own intentions and I'm not saying that that makes it ok but it does make it hard to call it rape. I feel that r Kelly needs help. He had been having sex since he was 6. I mean think about it. The first thing you learn about a girl is she likes sex? His own family got time to teach him how to hump but not to read. And the ppl he trusted to help him like his manager to over come his issue decided to put his niece (Aaliyah) in his face and said work with her. Like r Kelly may be sick but those around him are just as wrong. And all I'm saying is he needs Jesus 😇. I wish more ppl would pray for his healing so that less victims would occur. And pray for the victims too so that they don't turn predator
