Thanks po sa comment. nakikita ko nga rin yung technique na tinutuhog ng screw driver sa may con rod, kaso nag alangan ako dahil baka magka gasgas sa loob ng crank case.

That looks like a DT125 engine judging by piston size, but maybe I'm wrong? great video regardless man! I'll be overhauling an '81 DT175 engine soon myself :) edit: very interesting, my cylinder studs are accessible through the top of the cylinder because the fins have holes cut in them, but your are only accessible through the sides of the cylinder. edit 2: I didn't catch it the first time around, but stock DT175 piston bore is 66mm so yeah definitely not a DT175 engine

Hi Kosmoto, good observations. The 4 holes on the fins that line up with 4 studs at the base of the cylinder can be found on earlier DT models. The later models do not have it. The cylinder is definitely for DT175 but the previous owner put a sleeve on it and bore to a different piston.

Hi Phil. Thanks for posting. I have a question for You. I recently bought an aftermarket DT175 cylinder made by psychic and noticed it has much larger reed valve cage opening size than mine European version. Also - it has different mounting holes for the screws that fix the reed cage. What country are You based in. Do You perhaps know the yamaha part number for Your reed cage and carburetor joint. Trying to figure out anything that would match my new cylinder ;)

Does the cylinder depth change throughout the years? I am rebuilding to me, but the piston extend about 3mm post the end of the cylinder. I'm not sure if it's the wrong cylinder year, connecting rod, or piston. Or are the gaskets really think? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for the video!

@@timothyorrego1455 yes. both the cylinder deck height and connecting rod length changes. The difference is 5mm. Prior 1982 has the holes through the fins. Earlier models have higher deck height and therefore longer connecting rod. I had a mismatch of the cylinder and connecting rod in this build therefore the piston is sticking out same as yours. Hi sir. Is it possible to install 175 bore on a 125 engine? I noticed there are 4 bolts on the sleeve are they positioned same as 125? I have a 125 would love to convert it to a 175.i live in srilanka.

Yes it is. The 4 bolts on the base are same position with DT125. Depending on the cylinder block and piston that you can get, you may also need to change the connecting rod. I have another DT125 converted to 175 bore

May konting pagkakaiba po. Yung DT175MX na block may apat na butas sa fins ng block katapat nung 4 na stud bolt sa base. Tapos yung reed cage iba din.
