It’s been a great restoration. Jason has been very patient and good to let you show the process. I love hearing the train go by in the background. That reminds me of a fun little Railroad town in a model train set with a shop doing a restoration on a Shelby

Another great episode. We are getting spoiled with back to back episodes. The interior panels look great, another example of a craftsman at work. I am looking forward to the engine assembly and installation. The last episodes will NOT disappoint!

When it comes to restoring something. Something as beautiful as a Cobra jet engine or the interior of this beautiful car. Only he there in paint make sure that all of those holes and all those channels and all those places were available so that when he was going to rebuild he made sure it was there this is years of experience firsthand experience on how to properly rebuild take apart paint. Just do it right because it's a good thing to do whatever you pay him will not be enough. Is worth every penny. We should actually applaud what he's able to do this is the Lost art that people don't understand🎉 applause sir.

With all the thousands of little details that go into building such a car, it's a wonder to me how the factory managed to get them out the door efficiently and at a profit. Hundreds of hands involved vs. Jasons' two. 🙂 What a wonderful thing you're doing with this series Jerry, thanks again. - Ed on the Ridge

Would love an opinion on the use of sound deadening (i.e. DynaMat) on the inside panels on the GT. On a restoration like this, should it be used? I know it adds weight and $$, but people seem to really appreciate the difference. Would love a sound comparison drive on this model, one with interior sound deadening, one without.
@jasonwhite62542 ай бұрын
Sound deadening deff helps,this car has modern 3m sound deadening the orginal sound deadening was asphalt pads covered the entire floor pans and weighed about 40 pounds also when I installed the quarter panel I under coat the entire inner surface for rust and sound.thies cars when done are actually quiet for what they are the noise you hear are welcoming sounds of different time driving the cars are harder takes more human interface and that what makes them time machines if made them super quiet and all modern covenancys why save time buy a new one,all orginal can suck lot cool upgrades even this car has a few you not really know like the cam will be modern grind and the exhaust instead of 2 inch it's the 68 2 1/4

Next time get an auto Upholstery shop to save you from butchering that install.
@jasonwhite6254Ай бұрын
What was butchered nothing was modified or cutt upholstery shops dont like install panels they deff dont paint them,where I live nearest upholstery shop is least 100 miles do around 4 of thies cars a year for past 25 years

i've seen this movie... car is 90% complete, machine shop hasn't even started on the engine after a couple of years, if they didn't lose it, it gets rushed through and you wind up with a big headache with sloppy tolerances and you wind up pulling the engine and bringing it back 3 times then you start fresh with a new machine shop and a year later you're driving it.

You can see what it did, but this is fiberglass, not smooth like metal, hardly noticeable and something to find later as evidence of this work.
@jasonwhite62542 ай бұрын
There are metal moldings that actually cover the screws between the panels why dont matter and can drill in that area so on

You can't just give your engine block to anyone anymore because believe you me it will end up worse than when it went in. Only way I would ever mess with somebody as if they had an older person operating the machinery and even then I would still have to check his credentials
