Never knew about the oil filter removal tool until I watched this! That's now 2 things you've helped me with! Cheers bud, you're some guy☺
@projectfearn4 жыл бұрын
Opie oil sells the tool. It was £13 i think. I didnt use it properly either. You are supposed to leave it on as you undo it as there us a hole in the bottom and the oil drains out of that ha. Love it 😎

Your timing is pretty good with this video. My fiance is about to do this on her Tommi Makinen Evo and she needed to know where the sump plug and filter were. Looks like it's gonna be a piece of cake. Thanks.

Loving these regular uploads mate. This is what it’s all about. That feeling of just buzzing when the car is working as it should is priceless. Your video is tempting me to give my Evo 7 a on-the-drive service too. 👀 may as well order some parts then haha!

Top Video Danny keep the Evo content coming 😀 My 6 had the lifters done at 40,000 common job on these, just be mindful with age these engine's can suffer from rod failure, so talk to an expert about that perhaps, if you are going down the cambelt/lifters route. Extra cost but maybe worth being done all at once 😀👍

Having a brew and a jammy dodger... :) Honda have bee doing those oil filter tools for years...you used to get em free with the genuine filters... Would 0w 40 not be better for cold start noise ? or is it maybe too thin for these engines ? Keep up the good work N

The oil change has deffo helped. Hopefully when the lifters get done it will be sounding sweet, as its not a noisey car having standard exhaust etc :) 😎

why do you have to wait until lockdown is over to get it in a workshop? are they all closed in UK?

Yes most bodyshops are. Some workshops remain open to service key workers cars but most of the motor industry has shut pal 😔

Try car idling all electrics off 10 mins, turn engine off. Turn engine back on, all electrics on, radio, lights, aircon blowers on, idle another 10 mins. Should sort your idle, it did mine. It's on the forums if you look hard enough. My idle was shocking after disconnecting the battery. Skirt screws on ebay for pennies, just done mine cost bout a fiver. 14 x 3/4" BZP 10mm Hex Head SELF TAPPING SCREW Captive Loose Washer Zinc Plated.

Enjoy the vid Danny. When you get car cleaned underneath, be an idea to wire brush the sump & get painted. I used an epoxy VHT satin black on mine & looks good.

@@projectfearn Hi i tryed to reply dont know if you got it but if its the same this is the problem i had the car would not idle from cold so this is what i had to do was disconnect the battery leave it 10/20 mins. Then i reconnected the battery started the car with a bit of revs to keep it running turned everything on heaters lights tear screen and left it 10 mins then turned the car off then restarted it and bingo it idled from cold as it should not had a issue since other than that there is a mutt screw on the throttle body you can try think it was on mlr i found this hope it helps.

I was speaking to evo owners n they said they are not daily car! Like it's a track spec ariel atom or something, it's a 4 door family salon with a reasonably powerful engine! It's these idiots that install solid mounts throughout, 3 plate clutch etc for driving down their street showing off to scallies on the estate, never going to a track, an evo could quite comfortably be a daily driver if fuel cost isn't an issue, mine will get used daily when it comes back from the garage
@projectfearn4 жыл бұрын
I have a few mate with big horse power ones as dailys ha
@olliegti63 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more, I daily mine and track days without issue. If you listened to some owners you'd think there so fragile and or not suitable usually down to poor/cheap 'mods'.
@projectfearn3 жыл бұрын
Mine is standard and to be fair it's drives like any other car at 30mph. It is quiet and smooth. Yes fuel consumption isn't great but the car is super comfy to drive
@olliegti63 жыл бұрын
@@projectfearn exactly, I recently went through and replaced every door seal (not cheap) but it has made it so much quieter inside now. My car came with some questionable mods, 18" wheels and Tein coilovers, and it was like I had no suspension and very little agility, it just felt leaden. I've now gone back to the standard 17s on Pilot sport 4s and fitted Bilstein B16s with standard RalliArt top mounts. It rides beautifully and has great body control.
@projectfearn3 жыл бұрын
I think people like to make their cars out to be beasts and totally unpractical to sound cool haha yet for me you couldn't get any further from the truth with an Evo. Its comfy, spacious and rides mint. Yes fuel consumption ain't great but it isn't great on a range rover either.
