I dig those 2 green numeric displays. I don't think I seen those type in a pinball machines before. They're definitely not like the ones they use in close encounters of the third kind. Definitely unique.

I think those badly installed Molex connectors near the flippers are so that the flippers can be removed without having to unsolder the coils.

I think Gottlieb has done that actually, maybe system 3 games if I recall but with the weird brown wires I was not sure if it was factory on this one or not.
@Jim_Wilks3 жыл бұрын
@@pinballshenanigansThe brown wires were some old lamp cord -- definitely not factory work.

22:23 Aha, I see something! Right when you turned it on, for a SPLIT second players 1 and 3 were bright again but then the relay clicked and they went dark again. Could be something, maybe not.

Interesting! Good eye! Worth investigating for sure. I wonder why the other displays I installed work fine though???? Brain teaser for sure!!!

Cool 80's machine. Do these systems need a ground mod on the transformer like the 80B boards?

Yaman for sure! Not sure on this one but I will be looking into it!!!

Ice fever must be the in between pinball machine. Before premier took over gottlieb.

I thought Gottlieb changed their name to Premier for marketing.
@memyopinionsche66103 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly premier bought out gottlieb or took over and kept The gottlieb name for clout status. That's why you always will see gottlieb the premiere pinball. If I'm correct I mean I could be wrong.

Check out the pinball network one of their pinball podcast series called pinball Chronicles. They really go in depth on the history of gottlieb.

The Displays use +90vdc and -90vdc but you used only +12vdc to burn off the residue of the filaments, why only use +12vdc?

That is was is typically prescribed. Here is one video on it by TNT. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6PVgWeGp91kqMU

@@pinballshenanigans yes I have seen this before. I'm not sure why they are using 12vdc when the displays use +90vdc

@@waynegram8907 I think 90vdc is used for the gas but might destroy the filaments?
@waynegram89073 жыл бұрын
@@pinballshenanigans no sure, I guess the filament voltage is +12vdc if you look at the schematic I'm guessing it will have 3 voltages for each display +90vdc, -90vdc and +12vdc for the filament?

@@waynegram8907 Not sure either! It does work for sure but not on the 7 digit displays on this machine for some reason but I have done a few dozen 6 and 4 digit displays with success before!
