You should add a few links to chain and add a z-bar idler to compensate for start up torque.

you could have used a windshield wiper motor and a pwm with reverse switch, much smaller and easy to install I have several of them on different applications you would be surprised how much torque they have a 6amp pwm with reverse switch is less than $10 ebay
