Thank you for sharing this information. very good tip. Is this going to smudge , bleed or ran out. Thank you
@FiveTwoBakerАй бұрын
No problem! It can smudge, bleed, and run, but as long as youre careful when your painting, allowing it to dry fully before touching, and not taking it from extreme temperature to extreme temperature, you should be fine. And by extreme temperature what I mean is popping it in the fridge and then popping it out into a warm room. With extreme temperature changes you'll see any cake sweat, so you have to make sure you keep it in its box until it's come to room temperature. Hopefully that wasn't confusing. 💕

My apologies for responding so late! My girls and I have been sick, and so I've been very absent here. 😷 But to answer your question - In my opinion painting with gel food colors on fondant is the most cost effective, forgiving, and beautiful. Second up would be painting on ganache with gel food colors. I actually have a few videos I'd like to do on that method in the future if you're interested. I hope this helps! 💕

Hi! Can we use gel color do dye the cocoa butter?
@FiveTwoBaker Жыл бұрын
That's a great question. Technically you can, but it's hard to mix bc water and oil don't like to mix.

Really helpfull video . 😍👍 thanks alot . I have a question about the color dust . Can i use chocolate powder color ?! Will that work or do i have to buy powder food color ?!
@FiveTwoBaker3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’m so glad! ❤️ I’m not exactly sure what powdered color chocolate is. Do you have the name of the company that makes it? Maybe I know it as something else?
@loooooly23 жыл бұрын
@@FiveTwoBaker its local company called CAKE SALON . The colors are been used to color chocolate and cocoa butter to make chocolate bonbons .
@FiveTwoBaker3 жыл бұрын
So they sound like they work the same as color dusts since you’re using them for coloring chocolate and cocoa butter. Most of my dusts I can use to dust flowers, color icings, and chocolate, so my assumption is you should be fine. But not having used that specific brand, I can’t say with 100% certainty.

Hi i hava a question, im just wondering if i need to buy a fat soluble colour powder to combine with cocoa butter?
@FiveTwoBaker11 ай бұрын
That's a great question! I feel like the answer is yes, but being 100% honest, I'm not sure I have any that are not, so I can't say for certain. If I come across any I'll test them and definitely post. 💖

Would americolor gel and coconut oil work? Just thought😊
@FiveTwoBaker Жыл бұрын
Definitely does. The only problem with oil is that it takes ages to dry, so you run the risk of smearing it.

@@FiveTwoBaker thank you.. would glaze based colouring work?
@FiveTwoBaker Жыл бұрын
Sorry. I don't know the answer to that. I've never used glaze based coloring. I'll have to look into that to learn more. Do you have a brand you use? I'd love to try it.

@@FiveTwoBaker try sweet sticks. Also try whether hair dryer is suitable to dry the paint which affect the stability of the fondant consistency. Thanks

Hi can i know whether i can use gel colours with cocoa butter to ppaint on buttercream,ganche and fondant??? By the way your tutorials are so useful..love your work so much..love from srilanka.❤❤❤❤
@FiveTwoBaker Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I haven't used gel colors with cocoa butter before, but my gut says they'd be difficult to mix. Cocoa butter, being oil, tends to repel water based products. So if you'd like to use liquid type colors with a cocoa butter I'd go with an oil based food color. Then you get the texture of cocoa butter with the color of the oil food colors. I hope this helps!

Can I use color mill products with cocoa butter to mix together and paint over the ganache?
@FiveTwoBaker2 жыл бұрын
The color mill I'm thinking about is an oil based paint that doesn't need cocoa butter- it should work wonderfully on ganache. Is there another product you're referring to?

Will the painting melt if warm?
@FiveTwoBaker Жыл бұрын
I haven’t had that happen. But I imagine that if it’s warm enough to melt… your cake collapsing is the greater concern 😅. Let’s hope for none of that! 💖

If you make a mistake while painting, how to take it off? Thank you!
@FiveTwoBaker3 жыл бұрын
If you watch my video with "Snow White" you'll see how I handle mistakes on fondant- carefully wipe off with brush. For cocoa butter, if you can't wipe it off bc its dried, you can always paint over. Buttercream you probably just need to wipe off because it'll be absorbed in. Hope that helps!
