BernzOmatic propane torch works really good at making plastic look new again. You hold it just close enough to where it heats the section up and it makes it look new again. Those hinges will last forever lol .

Make one hood pin longer that the other. That way you can use the long pin as a pilot and then just align the shorter pin and wha la slide the hood in place single handed.

@2:48 Great job on the hinges. I especially like how you cut washer spacers for between the two halves of the hinges and the ends to prevent wear, which incidentally screen door hinges are the same way if you look closely. Shows great attention to detail!!!

You should make one of those videos like the service bulletin reading where you sit in the wingback chair with the smoking jacket.... but discuss the wines that go with those corks. Also, don't throw out the champagne corks with the big knob end. They make great file handles.

If you make one hood hinge pin a small bit shorter/longer you can set that hinge first and partially support the hood while setting the second hinge.

The cork idea for the fuel sender float is a good idea but how does cork hold up to exposure of gasoline?
@freetolook37273 жыл бұрын
Cork used to be used for fuel gauge floats. My dads old lawn tractors had them (1960's). The problem was the cork deteriorated as it got old and broke up

Water pump trick- if you do not live in some hot box area- disable the pressure cap/ o-ring system and that pump seal will last a long time. When the seal goes, it takes the bearings with it. Old cars will not blow hoses either.

I rework stuff like that. Most people don't take time to fix up stuff but I do. I work on ATVs for a side job. I gave $800 for a 2010 terex one seat side by side 750cc. 200hrs and replaced the belt and air and fuel filters and drained the tank and like brand new! $6500 plus side by side and $300 front bumper and a nice 4500 warn winch! Nothing really wrong with it other than dirty fuel filter and air filter clogged up from dirt road and farm field dust an inch thick.
