Keep doing what you do and what works for you brother. I liked your video very much and I appreciate the attention to detail and your explanations. Your quality information is Golden. I don’t agree with the “Lazy NOBODY” who had only negative to post. He should’ve stopped watching and did his own research! Thanks for being informative and educational. I’ll be sure to support your Business and purchase your Tri Fuel kit for my new Predator 5000 when I’m setting up my local permits. 🤙🏼

Thank you for your feedback and support! I'm glad the video was very helpful to you. My informational videos are done on my own time, and on my own dime, for everyone else's own benefit. Amazes me on how people can be so extremely rude, especially if I'm doing it all for FREE. Because its free, I don't fancy in cinematography or special effects, if they want to watch something entertaining they can spend a day at the zoo and watch turtles sit on a log.

I’m an engineer, and after looking through this gentleman’s setup, he did everything right. Using a UL listed flow regulator, using the right quick connect fittings (very convenient!), dialing in the fuel flow using an engine test lab (big plus and impressive you went to this extent), providing the fuel adjustment tools for switching between propane/natural gas, using the right hoses, and crimping them correctly. Very impressed, I would take the same approach from a nerdy engineering perspective. Even measured the exhaust emissions to check if engine is running rich/lean at the prescribed setting. Very nicely done my friend; I’m buying. Even though I can probably build it cheaper myself, the headaches and risk of not getting the right parts, is worth the slight markup to me (ran the numbers about 30-40% markup which is very standard). Thank you for this and doing such a thorough job. I’m buying

Hi alainhernandez3568, thanks for the feedback and support. I started out buying a kit online and quickly became disappointed for spending money on a kit that lacked both in quality and ease of use. A lot of my competitors have been around on the market A LOT longer than I have, and had every single opportunity to build a kit the same way I have done it. But refused to do so and continued to collect sales from folks who were hoping to have good experience with propane and natural gas. All of the negative stigma about LP and NG you hear about, come from poorly built kits, and I worked hard to put in extra effort in making my kits easy to install and worthwhile. I come from an automotive background with years of hands on work experience with experience in product development and CNC parts manufacturing. This is how I was able to build and patent the aluminum fuel adapters.

Really appreciate how much thought and effort you put into these conversions. I've been really curious about the A-iPower GXS7100 that costco has on sale right now. Have you taken a look at that or the similar A-iPower SUA7600? I'm really new to this world and it's not clear to me how universal some of these kits can be, like I see that you have one on your site for the A-iPower SUA2000, but no other models. I've also been curious about the Duromax XP7000, and I see you have other Duromax conversion kits but not for that model. Are there any good approaches to converting the models I've listed here if you don't yet have a kit for them? I'm specifically really after a closed frame inverter in the 5000+ running watt range.
@GrenergyTriFuel2 ай бұрын
Hi Spo8, Unfortuanly to make a good kit there is no such thing as universal kits. Each generator is slightly different and fuel settings can vary from each generator make and model. We have not yet had time to build kits for the larger generators due to how crazy busy it is here at the shop. But eventually by next year we'll have some thing out. Thanks for watching!

Can you add a parts list for what we need to buy to set up the predator 5000 for natural gas, ie regulator, hose and what not? If not do you have a timeline for when the kit will be available from your website?

Hi, parts are still being made at the fab shop. It's not possible to have something that's custom made be finished quickly. Long with sourcing the hard to find fittings and quick connect. I should have these parts done in two weeks and I'll do a video of the first batch of parts.

Great to hear from Andy, his stuff works! I got my natural gas conversion from him. I agree with his point about sources of fuel, so I ALSO keep grill tanks of propane on hand in case natural gas stops working. Always best to have options, and a multi fuel conversion gives you those options.

I have a question please. I saw that you recommended the NGK BPR7ES spark plugs, and that you gapped them. What gap gauge did you use for improved efficiency?
@GrenergyTriFuel Жыл бұрын
Yes, gap the plugs at 0.024" this should be good for all three fuel types.

Excellent video I have the older 3500 I’ve had for a couple years. Been thinking about doing a tri fuel conversion. I have seen other-kits that are a little cheaper, but years looks way better and looks like good quality and good performance not as much power drop as I’ve seen from people that install the cheaper kits. Great video lots of great info thanks

Glad to hear this video was helpful. We really put a lot of effort and work into the kit, I'm a tool guy and tools are an investment. With that in mind the generator you buy has to be reliable as the kit itself. You can purchase the tri-fuel kit for your 3500 in the link below. If you don't like it, return it for a full refund. tinyurl.com/2b7dpsbr

if you have a dual fuel generator (gas/propane), isn't there already a fitting inside the carb for the propane coming from the propane regulator that you could connect to a Y valve and tie one to the existing propane regulator and the other into the natural gas from a natural gas regulator?
@GrenergyTriFuel7 ай бұрын
Then you would need to drill a hole into the generator for the fuel input going to the carb. Where my kit just plugs into the existing propane input on the front panel of the generator. No cutting, no drilling, no anything. Just plug and play.
@wow10227 ай бұрын
@@GrenergyTriFuel yeah that would be preferential, but I don't like the regulator sitting on the ground on the side of the generator, so it still would take drilling into the plastic to mount it anyways, i was actually able to successfully convert my Duromax XP9000IH using the method I described, since the generator already has the fitting in the carburetor for propane there was no need to pull the air box off and install a special fitting, I haven't max load tested it yet, but I was able to successfully start and run a 4 ton Ruud unit with a soft starter on it with natural gas, the unit along with other things running in the house at the time was pulling around 4kW

Totally impressive production. I’ve been amazed at your progress. A few questions: 1) it was unclear what level of generator output achieved on natural gas. Did you get the full output from NG comparatively to the stock propane output? 2) My farm property runs on large propane residential tanks. Can you include as an additional option a connection that can be put inline for this line to be connected to your regulator assembly? 3) My city home runs on NG so I’m good in that regard.

Sorry Andy 2nd question, how many hours would you recommend between spark plug change on the Predator 5000 or would you recommend only changing plug when an abnormal run condition occurs?
@GrenergyTriFuel Жыл бұрын
I would follow when to change the plugs according to what the user guide says. If you don't want to worry about the plugs at all, run Iridium plugs. They will last forever and you'll never have to change them
@ChaJ67 Жыл бұрын
I picked up a Pulsar 4000W generator and found the spark plug was no good. I changed it 12 hours in and it made a huge difference, especially when trying to idle on propane. After seeing this, I would just change the plug straight out of the box.

@GrenergyTriFuel Жыл бұрын
You’re free to do what ever you want, and I’ll just sit back and wait to say “I told you so”. Why is everyone so focused on pressure, you can have all the pressure you want until volume of fuel flow becomes an issue.

It did not look like that conversion was "5 gas calibrated" based on your response to the load. As if that was the first time you ran it? It would be more convincing if you had a video of the generator in the test cell and the 5 gas readings. And if pressure matters... the end user may end up lean anyway??
@GrenergyTriFuel6 күн бұрын
The kit is plug and play and guaranteed to run right out of the box without any fuel adjustments unless you’re switching between LP/NG. Which I provide a preset feeler gauge for the load block. That in itself can only be achieved with a 5 gas analyzer, something my competitors don’t do except for genconnex as they have their kits EPA certified. I custom built the load block with higher tolerance and adjustment to allow for slight variation in NG pressure ranging between 4-8 W.C. Meaning the fuel settings have enough room for these variations to satisfy the electronic governor and maintain operation. The rest of the 5 gas analyzer readings are proprietary as the equipment and time in the engine room is an upfront cost along with the patent I’ve filed for fuel adapter.
@bruceb95525 күн бұрын
@@GrenergyTriFuel When you post a video of the conversion going thru the lab testing I will buy one. Until then....
@GrenergyTriFuel5 күн бұрын
Sorry, I would rather not, it’s my competitive advantage over other kits out on the market, which they’ve didn’t bother doing any sort of testing, so they just leave the fuel adjustments to their customers. They didn’t spend thousands in testing, but I have and it’s paid off for folks who currently purchased my products. I understand you need proof, but if you’re not convinced. It maybe easier to just buy a generator that is already dual or tri fuel equipped. I appreciate your feedback and comment.
@bruceb95524 күн бұрын
@@GrenergyTriFuel Showing your kit is not running too lean only helps you. If you are doing the testing that is.
@GrenergyTriFuel2 күн бұрын
With gasoline going leaner will increase exhaust cylinder temperatures. This is opposite with LP/NG, going leaner will result in cooler exhaust temperatures. It’s only a big issue when you go too rich with LP/NG, this can run the engine hotter. Going rich can increase power output and going too lean will reduce power output and lower engine RPM. Finding that precise balance can only be achieved with a 5 gas analyzer. A better indicator of correct fuel mixture would be pulling the spark plug and checking the condition of the tip. You can google search “spark plug engine conditions”

Unfortunately I’m not a professional video filmmaker and I don’t intend to be. I hate doing videos and editing them takes me hours. But I do them because my customers ask me to, and it helps them more than it would you. It would be nice to summarize every aspect of my video have have it be 1/4 of the time. That would make my life much easier. Lucky for you, your able to make sense of everything, for the rest of my customers who are of age and don’t have 100% literacy in handy work. I have to take the time to explain the obvious because if I don’t, I’ll be getting calls non stop and explaining myself over and over again to every single customer. Because of these videos, my calls and e-mails drop 75%. Why? My videos answers 99% of the questions folks would have. And most thank me for making a detailed video, you can read feedback comments about this in my other videos. I’m not making fancy entertainment videos for folks to enjoy. I make boring educational videos for people to learn and understand. In run a business, not a video production crew.
