Can't wait for the next instalment. I've been watching your channel for a few years now, .I was able to think about a drainage solution for my property down here in Australia 🇦🇺. I basically told a plumber what I wanted done and we solved the problem together. Now no swimming pool in my driveway or garage. I feel like I'm one of your lucky customers that's had a flooding disaster solved. Thanks to you and your team.

Great video, that grading came together really well and that turf tech machine is “the pup’s nuts” , I could do with one of those when I finish a barn conversion project for my mum. It’s set in to a slope so am putting a swale round the back of it to divert surface water away in the event of heavy rains. Guess where I learnt that? Thanks for all your effort in making these vids, I certainly appreciate them.👋😀🇬🇧

@jackbrown6913

Shaun, I understand adding soil to give water runoff but if/when that soil gets wet doesn’t the dampness just go in thru the brickwork and the cement joints? I would have thought that the lower wall of the house need sealing/waterproofing?
@GCFD
@GCFD Жыл бұрын
It had recently been painted. The water should run along the surface easier than soaking into the dirt once things settle and the sod takes hold. The idea is keeping the water off the foundation so any waterproofing is not needed.
@joeshmoe7789
@joeshmoe7789 Жыл бұрын
As long as the surface water moves away and doesn't "pool" behind or run to the structure, there shouldn't be enough water to penetrate the foundation.

@GCFD
@GCFD Жыл бұрын
Why's that? We needed an instant erosion control with all the water coming through there.
@Chestnut0923
@Chestnut0923 Жыл бұрын
@@GCFD I’ve always had luck with the straw netting then hydro seed. Sod for me is hard for customers to take care of. They seem to be more upset when they see the brown in the grass due to watering issues. Around here a lot of people use hydro seeding with netting for erosion control. Tell the client to get a sprinkler turn it on and let it sit for 20 or so minutes around in different areas. Make sure it gets saturated but not left pooling with water. Give it a few weeks it starts to come in and about a month later and it will start to look nice.
