I don’t know what is up with these people going on and on about how they don’t like the look…then don’t watch, keep you jealous negativity to yourself, and move on! I think your videos are terrific in terms of content, style, narration, and production as well as originality. Stay true to yourself and don’t let these bots steal your joy.

Hi our beautiful Tasha. I have been in my attic decluttering. I wish I would have “ known “ you before I bought a lot of the stuff that is up there. I have to say I do have a lot of Tasha items. I love simple pottery, certain florals that are natural looking and I have a great collection of beautiful baskets that I can use as storage or decor. Our home is small so I cannot use all of it at one time. I change things up all the time. I have really gotten into fabrics. We went to an estate sale Saturday that was really just two rooms. I bought four pieces of material. The lady who owned the house said her sister travelled the world and always sent her a piece of material from each place. I told her I loved the pieces I got because they were different. I agree fabric can be used so many ways. I loved what you said about looking in your back yard. I often take branches from our red maple tree just as some of the leaves are changing and put them in a vase or mix them with flowers from our garden. Oh, I love your white blouse. I hope you are doing well. ❤❤❤ I am so hoping that the Ashville NC residents an are getting clothes, food, money, baby formula etc. I watched video after video about the destruction . I was so glad you were not near that area. Thanks Tasha..great job as usual. ❤❤❤❤
@TashaatHome2 ай бұрын
I'm sure there are a lot of treasures in your attic. We don't have an attic so I have to reign myself in haha. That is really cool about the fabric! I too am thinking of the west NC Asheville folks--what a tragedy. We are a couple hours away. I know a lot of people from our area are definitely helping and we are all sending supplies, hands to help, and prayers their way.

I enjoy your content and I think some viewers are missing the point. They dont have to have your neutral style. The point is you're at the thrift store just like everyone else on a budget. But, intentionality in choosing the items you buy makes the difference in how the home comes together. Even if you have a different style, its good to think about how things will look in your space before you buy a bunch of stuff.

Thanks 😊 That was certainly my intention!

You are proof that it's not about how much one spends or how famous the store is, it's about how well one plans, imagines and styles the items. Thank you so much for showing it's possible without ordering the whole PB, C&B, RH, and Arhaus catalogs. I am in awe of you! I know my style, my color palette, and what I love and I'm very consistent in the aesthetic. But I need to figure out how to arrange things so they are harmonious, balanced and pleasing to the eye. How did you learn how to take all the items you gathered and arrange them just so? I know I have many nice things, I usually just feel like I don't know how to arrange them. It looks okay, but not "styled" like yours and so many professionals look. I want it to look lived in and homey and not a store, but I want it to look curated, too. :) If I look to catalogs, blogs, websites, etc, I just get down and discouraged, rather than informed. I guess I need a mind shift and think of them as textbooks to learn from. Thank you for showing us how it can be done!
@TashaatHome14 күн бұрын
It's wonderful that you already know your palette and aesthetic! I think you hit the nail on the head when you said to study designer photos not just looking at the whole effect but taking in placement, details, how many and how close they space things, etc. Try styling a small space like a coffee table by "copying" a designer photo but with your own items. Once you see that it works it's like it clicks and then the more you do it the better you get! I also recommend learning about some of the basics like the rule of three, repetition, varying heights and materials. You might enjoy my video about styling a console where I show exactly how and why I'm placing things. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH26hopveJ1geaM Thanks so much for watching!! ☺️🤗

Wonderful tips that everyone can customize to their style! I like the conversation happening in the comments about being stuck in an echo chamber of videos like this that all echo each other’s painting / up-cycling/ styling techniques…there is the chance of making your home look impersonal for the sake of what’s popular. I am currently happily in that echo chamber lol, but I remind myself to truly ask whether I like something and tell myself to curate personal pieces that set my home apart. For example, I like transitional style and watch a lot of channels like this, but I’m seeing that I don’t like the very neutral beige aspect of it, and remind myself that my neutral tone can be a green or a blue etc. That said, I use videos like this as a general guideline and personalize the rules in my head.

Absolutely, part 3! In the past i threw away a lot of faux greenery , I loved it, but went with the flow of public opinion: looked cheap. Now I am buying this again. My theory, if you do not have money to buy a fancy furniture, fill your space with faux greenery and flowers. My space now looks much more elevated and cozy. Surely, more expensive faux plants look more realistic. My theory however, , again, buy whatever you can. Stick with the faux greenery instead of flowers ( easier to find the " real " ones). I bought a large palm tree for $15 on sale, somebody would say it looks artificial, ....maybe. I cut the leaves, put it in a nice basket, threw a large beads garland i made ...it harmonically fits my space.
@TashaatHome2 ай бұрын
Right, there is such a wide variety of quality in faux greenery and florals. It's definitely not all bad 😊

Love your earthy palette, I'm wondering if you went with earth tones because it was safe as opposed to bright colors and bold patterns, not meant as an insult, serious question.. Thank you for sharing, just found your channel and i truly enjoy the way you explain everything, subcribed!!
@TashaatHome2 ай бұрын
Thanks very much! If you also watch part one you'll see that I used to have a lot more varied and bright colors, so it's not a matter of being afraid of color (for me). I first of all wanted a calmer feeling home and all the photos I was drawn to were more subdued earth tones. Also I felt I was amassing too many things that only looked good in like one place or not at all. With these tones I can move anything most anywhere and it still looks cohesive. Also decorating for holidays or parties is a breeze and nothing clashes. There is nothing wrong with more color and I love some spaces that I see. I just landed on a less saturated color palette and have found that I truly love it! I am adding in a few more moodier tones slowly though.
@Gardeningathelake2 ай бұрын
@@TashaatHome I totally agree with you! It may seem like a safe choice but really it's a choice that makes perfect sense , I was recently at the hotel Durango in Vegas and loved the look of the earth tones mixed with alot of golds, very classy yet warm vibe..I'm in tbe middle of a remodel and bringing in a lot of those earth tones mixed with a pale baby blue and gold accents, fingers crossed it turns out!
