Hi tailwind thanks for the video .Very good and informative video. It helped me when I was requalified for ATR 72 500 captain for mixed fleet flying , 500 and 600 .I flew 500 long time ago. Just one comment ,the quality of landing is not measured by Gmeter value .Attempt to make low gmetre value landing or called as grease landing is not a good idea.Attempt to make Grease landing significantly increases long flare ,late power reduction ,long landing roll,long landing distance and reduced aircraft control in wet runway .ATR recommends standard landing technique as per described in FCTM . Once again good job and keep it up 😊

Hey Capt, thank you for your kind words. Yes we are aware of the FCTM landing procedure and yes im aware the G meter doesnt ensure a good landing. Its just a fun thing some captains do. Wish you the best!

Hey buddy, these are real nice videos. I tried making similar videos on the 737 a while ago, but wasn't sure if I should upload them. Anywho, Thanks a ton for these, I've just started my ATR 72-500 training, these videos will be resourceful. Also, If you have any other thumb rules / documentation ( notes, reference material, etc.) that could help me during my TR, Please do get in touch and share them with me. It would be super helpful. Cheers!

Hi! Really like your videos on the atr 72-500, and you have sparked my interest in this great aircraft! I was wondering if I could make a request for the next video? I'd like to know more about the rotation rate and the landing pitch of the atr since it sits so low to the ground. Keep up the great work, and much love from Sweden!
@rockerkunal
@rockerkunal 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Firmas, rotation rate is the regular, around 3-5 degrees per second on take off. landing cannot have too much landing pitch as the 72 has a rather long body and has a tendency of tailstrike. around 5-7 degrees should be max and sure you can make a request for a video!

Hey, I'm suppose to go for an ATR rating and have sometimes left before, what would you recommend me to suddy in order to be advance? Secondly, I just left school and was wondering how hard would it be for a first type rating with only 200 hours? Thanks a lot for your answers!
@rockerkunal
@rockerkunal 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Max, congratulations on your first job on ATR! It's a great machine. The rating is relatively easier when you're fresh from school as you don't have any bad habits of flying single crew or bush operations, so don't worry about it. It'll be the same things as flight school but on a different plane. There's many ways you prepare for the rating, the main thing is just getting familiar with the cockpit layout knowing where everything is. The next being the procedures, should be in your FCTM. Know your call outs and flows, the FCTM will be your main book for Sim. www.theairlinepilots.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=48 This site should help you greatly. If you do find yourself having more time, you can go through the various systems of the ATR by reading through the FCOM. What airline did you get into and where are you training? Wish you the best! Cheers

Excellent effort. I appreciate it deeply. Could you please let me know how to set a Fix to Altitude leg? For example, fly on radial 123 from VOR XYZ and after pasing FL120 proceed to waypoint ABCDE
@rockerkunal
@rockerkunal 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I've actually tried looking for this problem before but unfortunately I couldn't find a way to do it, however these altitude fixes do exist on the SID pages, you could technically steal the altitude fix leg portion of the SID and plug other fixes that you desire. So far that's the only way I've found and you're limited to the SIDs that you can find
@tamefalcon6062
@tamefalcon6062 3 жыл бұрын
@@rockerkunal Thanks a lot for your quick response. SID points can be copied and used but can not be edited. Many a times the ATC instructs such procedures which are not in SIDs. That's why I was looking for such things to customize the route. Anyway, thanks a lot once again. Keep making such educative videos. Best regards. : )
