Part 3 The Finale! The true QAYG caveman scrappy string/strip quilt

Well in just a few weeks I finished the Caveman QAYG scrappy, string quilt. It's a fun, easy and quick project, ideal for all those leftover jelly roll or scrap strips you may have. Oh Rob it came out beautiful! There are so many fun little motifs to spy in it as she sits in her recliner, As for 'errors' my daughter calls it 'Home made IN A GOOD WAY' and I think that is a great way of looking at it. A product full of love and soul. Look forward to the stained glass series.

I’m using that serpentine stitch on my sister’s quilt as you go. A little different design than yours, but just as scrappy. Yours looks great!

Thank you so much, the serpentine stitch is ideal for these types of quilts it adds depth and movement, it is my favorite decorative stitch. I'm sure your scrappy quilt will be awesome and by far better than mine. Thanks and be blessed.

ROB, I gave my last gnome to a sweet little 3 year old because she was having a bad day!!! So now I don't have even a gnome to help me!!! But the little girl I gave the gnome to was very happy!!! She is my very skinny friends' granddaughter!!! I would love it if you could/ or would move up here by me!! I know the snow is what keeps people from moving up here, but the heavy snow is mostly way up north!!! Where I am is only about an hour s' drive from the Ohio state line!! Today we are only suppossed to get to about 81 degrees!! That beats the heck out of 100 degrees and unfortunately where your humidity is probably higher than here, it's not to bad here, even though we are very close to the lakes and the Detroit river!!! My heart will always be to move back to Idaho but that will never happen!!! Oh, the most snow we had last winter was about 4 inches here but is was gone in a day!!! I live 2 1/2 miles from Joanne's and Hobby Lobby, the nearest Michael's is about 1/4 of a miles from me!!! I can go out front and see Michaels' from where I live!!! Now with alll that being said!! I guess I will have to work on my hats and the chicken I am trying to make to give to my sister!! After all, she did live in florida not too far from you!!! She had all those goats and chickens and a horse and yes, even 5 cows!!! Which I got to feed everyday I lived there!!! Oh, did I mention, they also had snakes, lot's of snakes!! It turned out that somewhere near their driveway there was a huge nest of rattle snakes!!! Thank the Good Lord, I never encountered any of them!!!!! I had to walk in the awful fog. most of the time, down to the dairy at about 3 in the morning to do all the grunt work for my sis!!! So now I will let you go and hope we both can get our own quilt fairy or gnome who will help us out when we need it!!!! Meantime please think about moving up this way!!! I would love to have a quilting friend near me who I can talk to or shop with!!! Take care my friend and stay cool if you can!!! God Bless you and keep you in His arms!!!!!!

Hi Rob, Just a quick reply to your reply!!! My Pesky fingers are stuck in very slow motioon!! I have at least 100 more hats to crochet before I can get back to quilting and then I'm constantly wishing Icould just let the WIPS sit another year so I can make just one more quilt and try to have it done in time for Christmas this year!!! OH, if you don't need your quilt fairy can I borrow him/her!! I sure could use the help!! I've already asked the crocheting Fairy for helpp but she is booked solid until after Cristmas!!! Any way, take care!! Oh all those hats are going to my doctors office and will then go to the patients!!! Free of charge!!! I think we have as many seniors as florida has!! Most of them here are barely making their rent let alone buying groceries!! My neighbor, eats very little nutrional foods , but her cats are all very fat and sassy!! My neighbor maybe 90 pounds if she weights that!!! Take care my special friend and I hope you are staying as safe as possible and drinking a ton of water!!! LOL, I don't have a quilt fairy, I have a very fat Gnome named Bubba "J" that helps with my quilts when I can pry him away from the Computer, That would be me!!!! You could very well have more seniors up by you. Peeps are leaving Florida due to high prices and bad weather. Heck, I'm thinking about moving someplace a little further north to escape this extreme heat we've been having the last two summers. I've lived here in FLA since 1997 and never has it been this bad. The dogs don't even want to go out to do their business. You take care of yourself and get those fingers busy. peeps are needing those hats you make. Be safe and blessed dear friend.

What size did you cut your strips? TY
