For any Classic owner who also bought the boat cover, you can't store the trolling motor with the prop out and also put on the cover. To keep from carving the rubber pad with the prop, always unplug the trolling motor before you pull it up and stow it.

Jim, I’ve got the same boat and I’m replacing my hook2 4X also with a Hook 7 reveal TS. I’m so glad you posted this video to make my install easier. The only question I have is on the trolling motor transducer does it matter which way the transducer faces? I assume a down cone sonar really wouldn’t make a difference unless the minnkota prop would cause noise. Thanks Pete

I believe it would flip the left and right, which would really come into play with side scan. Im trying to figure if it would make a difference if you don't have side scan capabilities. Give it a shot and Let me know!

Have you thought about recessing the pedal to the trolling motor?
@justjimtime16723 жыл бұрын
I upgraded to the Terrova. So there really is no need with an electronic pedal. There is no travel on the pedal at all. If you ever plan on getting a trolling motor with an electronic pedal you'll be glad you didn't put an unnecessary hole in your boat and maintained the entire front deck for walking or standing where ever you want. Just my opinion

Did you compare performance of the stock MKP2 TM prop to the MKP6? I’m thinking of switching to the MKP6 but wonder if it performs better (faster speeds, stronger pull?) and how it affects the battery life.
@justjimtime16723 жыл бұрын
sorry to say I actually replaced the trolling motor with a Terrova before I even use the prop one time so I returned the prop luckily. With that being said looking at the two props and using a similar one on the Terrova II cant imagine you would not see a noticeable difference with the bigger weedless prop. Let me know how it turns out if you end up switching. Good Luck.

When you wired the finder, where are the power wires?
@justjimtime16724 жыл бұрын
Take the panel off the front that the trolling motor plug is on. the power wires are down in the hole attached to the trolling motor plug wire. Pull up the wire and you'll find them

Great video. Do you plan to put a live well aerator timer too?
@justjimtime16724 жыл бұрын
Godsson5335 that’s a good question I hadn’t really thought about. I’m going to look into it and see if it’s something I want to do.

Jim, two questions. What kind of bit did you use to remove the access plate up front by the boat. Also, can you clarify how you spliced in power for your bow fish finder. Going to install mine soon. Thanks!!!
@justjimtime16724 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, If you mean the access plate thats covered in carpet at the front, I used a square bit. Some screws will use square and Philips, I dont remember if these do, if so go with the square or you'll strip them. I'm not 100% sure if thats the plate your referring to because the Classic and Heritage models need to be drilled and sawed to access the trolling motor bolts after you remove the plate. They Just started making an access hole in the Classic XL for that. As far as the power for the fish finder goes. After you get the cover off. there is a hole with the wire coming out to the trolling motor. pull that wire up little and there is the wire for the fish finder. I used heat shrinkable crimping connectors. Crimp them then use a heat cut or torch to melt the connector. I also put electrical tape around each connector incase the crimp cut through the connector to bare metal. make sure you cut the fuse off the new fishfinder you dont need it as there is already one under the console. you dont want two and you dont want it under that panel. I have a video where I show me hooking a 9 inch Garmin up there the correct way. I didn't do it right when I moved the original Lawrence up there. good luck kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYeUqWSelL1kmLM

@@justjimtime1672 Me again. How did the weedless wedge work on that Minn kota edge. The stock prop on the edge is not the greatest but was wondering if you saw much difference with he weedless wedge
@justjimtime16724 жыл бұрын
@@alexkoutdoor I actually changed out the edge for the Terrova before I even used the weedless wedge once. Luckily I was able to return it. I have heard other guys say its a big difference if that helps

do you have the stock nmbers for the pedastel and seat
@justjimtime16724 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The pedestal is bass pro brand sku 1852125. The sku on the seat is 76237-G. After using the seat I wouldn't recommend unless you really need something cheap to get by. It is very uncomfortable. I plan on buying 76234-CG, a bass pro seat for 54.99.

Would the hydraulic pedestal you bought fit the original high back seat that came with the boat? i want a higher pedestal but not the butt seat
@justjimtime16724 жыл бұрын
It would fit. But depending how tall you are your feet may not touch the floor sitting all the way back in the lowest position. This post is 22.5 - 29.25". They also have one that is 16" - 22.75". I'm not sure what the stock one measures
