I've been watching this episode and the others and you are spot on with everything you say. ( I'm 67 and live in Australia btw) .. Something I would add (which is likely true for all ages), which I don't think you have said, is to be open to changing your plans and vision for something different if the opportunity arises. In my case, I started doing volunteer work post retirement, which grew legs much quicker than I could have imagined. I now have a part-time paid job doing something I wanted to do as an 11 year old!! It's seriously never too old to be what you are meant to be 😁 Oh, the other good thing - at my age I can walk away from it anytime I want as I no longer have the financial or personal commitments which can keep you tied when you are younger.

Terrific advice and very insightful. You're awareness of the state of mind and physical being of retired people is spot on. Retirement is liberating. You can use a set of skills built up over a lifetime of learning to truly fulfill yourself by working without worrying about the next raise, the next promotion the next whatever. You can just be your best self. Managing the transition into that state of mind is the hard part and your video series is very helpful in that regard.

Thanks again for the content. I retire at the end of June and I am not always handling the planning well. Thankfully my wife is patient with me as we navigate this together.

🎉Congratulations on your upcoming retirement! It's completely normal to feel a bit overwhelmed during this transition. It's a significant change in your life and it's okay not to have all the answers right away. The fact that you're planning and thinking about it is a great first step. Keep communicating with your wife, and together you'll navigate this exciting new chapter of your life.

Guided meditation is my new go to for my mental health. Lots of great KZbin videos like this one available. Plus being retired gives you more time to discover your preferences. Thanks Cyn..

Very good tips based on science and experience. Yes, slow down to focus on self development - finding your authentic self. Let’s do it! (There is some static that interferes with message. Difficult to fix, but necessary. )
