It's a very fine watch/phone for it's first iteration. But while yes the wrist holder does hold it very tightly when you try to pull the watch away from the holder, putting your wrist in positions where it presses against the watch - such as getting up from a desk where you lean on the desk to push yourself up - it will 'pop' out. Can provide ample video support if necessary. And aside from some apps, like that Horizon Video app, that now show "not compatible with this device" (maybe a result of the V05 update?), it really runs quite like a normal Android device. And others) There is no facility in settings to select default apps although there is a home app hidden within settings( further updates may allow modification). I find the stock launcher inflexible, so my preference is to Use an overlay app instead. (Floating toucher app seems to conflict with notifications as access to them disappeared when running app). Assistive touch for Android installed instead (various versions available in playstore) Stock Phone dialer app : doesn't allow access to keyboard and I was unable to retrieve my Voicemail. Stock Contacts app: has no access to call history or keyboard either. (location services hidden in settings: security) not tested. Personal WiFi hotspot works with no connection problems.(power intensive). Transferred various media files including feature length movies and music files with no problems encountered : P.s. if using a rotation control app in the background. Set :Settings: battery: intelligent cleaner: off: (Unable to specify individual apps). This will help resolve any rotation issues. Note: I found this may have to be reset after charging device. Addendum: I am still unable to get Rotation Control Pro working but instead having initial success (since I have just started trying it at the time of this addendum) with "Rotation - Orientation Manager" by Pranav Pandey. Free version allows for forced orientation setting on individual apps; the on-demand rotation feature sounds good but is a Pro version feature, and I therefore haven't tried that. Hello, Where do you call out the controls for Rotation Control Pro while using other apps? It says that the controls are in the notification area, but I only see normal notifications at the home screen and cannot call out the notification area at all when using apps. Thanks in advance. Thanks for watching. What that support system means is that your PHONE needs to be running on that version of iOS or Android in order to tether properly to the watch. It has nothing to do with the OS on the watch itself. In this case the actual watch OS is Android 9.0, custom made for the watch environment (and considerably different than the Android navigation you are used to on your phone.

Hi Mr.Ticks, I wonder how this compares to the unihertz jelly 2 with a band. I'm aware that's now a smartwatch, however I wish my LEMT was more stock Android, as many apps from Google Play Store fail to work properly or are incompatible. Especially newer apps. That's why I though the jelly 2 with a band would be a good alternative, being closer to a standard phone. The dimensions are similar to the APPLLP MAX, and it also has a detachable band (optional). Yes, unfortunately, for Android watches you need a separate SIM for calling and texting. There's an app workaround where you can answer texts bluetooth connected to your phone, but not for calling.

Accidental drop test Caught in my cycling jacket sleeve And fell from from my ebike @ a height of 2 metres at 35-40 kph to hard road surface (blacktop) Results Survived with minor cracks @ diametrically opposed screen corners where it impacted and bounced . Screen survival probably due to factory installed screen protector. Summary Remarkably robust manufactured module designed to be removable (which it certainly is🙈🙈🙈) Conclusion Safer used as a pocket watch , no jet skiing or motocross advised.

Hi Mr Ticks, just a small app suggestion. Have a look at "multi-touch tester". It's really handy for seeing how your device's display is detecting your touches. It showed me that my Optimus Pro's display has poor accuracy around the edges :)

However it can also do other things like toggle wifi, show a volume dialog, open the power menu and launch apps. All from user configurable edge swipes. It has totally replaced floating toucher for me.

@@InternetReviewerGuy no, but you can use apps like floating toucher in which you can place 'actions' such as home , return, recent apps etc. The app places an overlay on the watch face which you can use to access apps directly or place Google assistant on there to give you voice commands as you would use on a normal Android phone. There are also apps that allow you to redesignate button actions to do other tasks than what their original programming was designed to do look up button mapping on the play store.

Any Android watch should do that by using a combination of the stock tethering app, WiiWatch2, and the addition of the "Watch Droid" pair of apps, one on the phone and one on the watch. Set them all up, keep your watch within Bluetooth range of your phone, and you're good to go.

Hey Joshua, I got inspired to upload a copy of an early version of the Easy Voice Recorder app to the Smartwatch Resource Center which is most appropriate for a smartwatch because you can adjust the gain right on the screen (updated versions require access through a tiny menu button. I am beginning to regret buying this watch. I have a a couple of questions I hope you can answer. Firstly, how do you connect your watch to your computer in a certain way that lets you have access to the internal storage so you an add songs or whatever, and secondly, since there doesn't appear to be any watch face that displays the remaining power, and I believe you cant install watch faces in the usual watchskin (I believe that is the case) where do go to find out your remaining power left in your watch? Hey Richard, as for transferring files, get everything ready, connect to your PC then connect to the watch. You should get a charging circle on the screen. Touch it. Select File Transfer when it comes up and you're good to go. On Mac install "Android File Transfer". On PC it should mount like a thumb drive. For faces with power level, check the first one. It's basic black analog face with power on the right. The third stock face has power in the lower left. There may be a few more. So far they haven't solved installing custom faces but they are working on it. Oh, from any face you can swipe down and see the power level in the top right. This Android 9 is different than what we've been used to in the past, so things aren't where they used to be.

to be honest, the cable is so short and the magnetics so weak, that you have to lay the watch down to avoid data transfer interruption. And it's a no go on win8.1, no driver!! I use File Manager+ remote option to access the PC by wifi to copy some songs.

I haven't tried it for Google navigation, and you'd need a SIM card in it for the map to show (unless you set it up for offline maps like you do on your phone).

If your SIM supports data and you have an active data plan, it should work just like in your phone, cell or WiFi. Remember your carrier must be on the GSM network, like AT&T or T-Mobile.

I just got this watch, the issue is unlike American watches this watch doesn't have auto-rotation which is annoying, most apps launch portrait instead of landscape, how would I correct this issue?

I use an app called "appshut" u can get it for free on one of those other store sites. does the job.

Sounds like appshut does the opposite. As far as I know, it's a firmware glitch that hasn't been fixed. Not sure if they will be able to before they start selling an Android 10 version. Hope that one will work properly. It's a pain that all the apps quit like this.
