Just another Dave Mitchell education video showing us how easy and how much fun doing a restormod can be. Geeze, if only algebra was this much fun in grade school. I hope these courses with Dave as the teacher go on forever. Oh, in case Dave springs a surprise test on us, the tool used at around 14:12 time, it's a spanner nut driver/wrench.

Been involved with classic bikes for over 40 years and this shows the experience of knowing exactly how it should be done and what needs to be explained - excellent !

Poetry in motion. Isn't it just so satisfying turning over freshly built engine by hand 👍

I think for those wanting to ride weely on your britbike use blue or red locktite which should be put on 3 to 4 threads when almost tight. Loosening shafts run away fast.

I have never worked on a BSA. Been many a Honda, Kawasaki, and a couple Yamaha. And all of them were from the 60s and 70s. Never have I seen an engine built as tough as this BSA.

Fascinated to see that clutch tool being used and parts I recognise going together as although when working I handle these components etc every day I seldom see these things being used. A very interesting series.

It's a good idea to plug the chain oiler opening when the clutch is removed. Then use modern lube on the chain. No more drips.

Great series. I'm really enjoying comparing methods with Dave. Also, when I do my video, I do them sped up. Maybe I should film them real time more often? 🤔 Lovely to watch. 👍

Great video, I have to overhaul my 67 lightening over the winter. BTW I always gap check the alternator (clearance stator to rotor, stator will move slightly on studs to allow adjustment)?

Dave, tec question for you m8, re - 72 T120R clutch crunch. why would my bike crunch when is going in 1st during a ride out? (ie ready to pull away from stop position) bar end action is smooth and fairly light gear changes has no concerns is only when going into 1st gear, any suggestions please?

wont clutch oil leak through the current wire passage, there is no proper seal . just a small rubber grommet like thing
@petergj23 жыл бұрын
Great series of videos! Out of interest, do you take any special precaution to prevent oil leaking where the alternator wiring passes through the case? Is any kind of sealant used over and above the sleeve? Thanks
@chriscondell6033 жыл бұрын
There should be a 'rubber' grommet type seal to minimise oil loss

Enjoy the build of the motor. I have to say though not a fan of using a impact to tighten the clutch and rotor assembly. Calls for specific torque on those nuts as you well know mate.RMM
