Part 4 MT125 Tractor Service

In this video, I finish up with the 50 hour MT125 Tractor Service. I change the oil in the front axle and run down the check list for the finishing touches. A few things I didn't show: I used spray lube on my linkages under the tractor, I checked about every bolt I could put a wrench on, I sprayed corrosion prevention on battery post, and I did one more look over the entire tractor.

Like several other folks Ive found your videos to be very helpful in making my decision to purchase an MT 125 with a loader and backhoe. Picking it up this morning in West Plains Missouri at Hirsch Feed and Supply. I shopped quotes for over a week from 8 dealers. Les, our salesman got me the best deal.

Well I have waited for this series and as usual you did a nice job with your filming, comments and suggestions. As others have noted the quieter transmission/pump noise is a big plus. I have about 18 hours to go and I'll be doing this service. I will follow your lead on the front axle change and the synthetic oil there too. Again, thank you for taking your time and extra effort to put this on video for us all to learn from.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting these service videos. I have a New Holland Workmaster 25s and found these to be very helpful. The Lucas hydraulic booster worked wonders in mine. Quieted that whiney transmission right down. Thanks again!

Hi Tony, That is something I really appreciate in your video's. You put the good with the bad and even your breakdowns. Machinery will always fail somewhere and it's nice to know where in advance. I'm getting it from a place called nagys in Michigan. I sure looked at Bob's tractors but it's a little to far for me to drive. I just hope I get the service.

Just watched entire series and I don't even have a tractor yet. This one seems easy to work on. My dealer said the 50 hour maintenance is around $500 for them to do it.

I know this is one of your older video's but I wanted to comment on here about the front axle drain plugs. I have a New Holland wm25s which is the same tractor as the ls mt125. I had one of my front axle drain plugs fall out and lost all the gear oil in my front axle. I had watched this video ahead of time and remember you talking about yours being loose. I told my dealer about yours being loose as well and it seems they may need to do a quality check on these. My dealer said they are going to make it a standard check on all these tractors they sell now as well as let the manufacturer know as well. Also they took care of everything on my tractor, replaced the plug and all new fluid as well at no charge no questions asked even before I pointed out your video.

@@TonysTractorAdventure I am coming up on my 50 service I have started to collect my supplies for this and I am going to do like you did and change all the fluids to synthetic and add the Lucas or use the actual lucas fluids. I have my breaker bars ready and prefer them tight instead of loose and my fluids all over my job site or shop floor. Another Great video Tony! I only have one suggestion or request if possible - Can you turn down the volume of your intro. It's so loud vs the rest of your video. One other question - does the front axle a breather on it or did I miss the part. Thank for all work of make and posting of your videos. I am always looking for the next one.

Kioti make a really good Tractor too. I had a CK20S which is out of production. I would have no problems at all owning a Kioti.

I too like my Lucas my father n law made me a believer years ago My 125 has 774 hours on it do you think its ok to switch over to synthetic trans and engine ? I ask because I have been told if it wasn't broke in in with synthetic do not change over to synthetic ?

Those are old fables. Oil technology has changed over the years. It is fine to upgrade your oil.
