I checked and there was indeed a section of the Bushcraft Shelter manifesto on Wheelchair access, so congrats... looks like your one of the first to include, well done! Seriously though, walls looking real good and a poster mentioned the insulating properties and he is correct on mud/clay walls. Have really enjoyed your channel Alex and can't wait to see how it continues to evolve, Cheers!

Cheers John, yes I've definitely noticed a difference with temperature holding inside the shelter. Thanks for your ongoing support and valuable commentary mate.

Great clip Alex. Been using self inflating mats for about 25 years. Never had a puncture. My solution has always been to use a ground sheet under the tent. $10 dollar investment. Get around 10 years use from each cheap blue tarp. Looking to get the Alton Goods tub groundsheet. Will still put cheap tarp underneath to increase lifespan.
@AlexDoes
@AlexDoes 3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Brad, actually for most of the year I have been using a ground sheet under the tent also. I think I get most punctures while the pad is rolled up in my bag. I've never tried the self inflating mats as they always seem a bit bulky. I have ordered the Alton Goods insulated pad so you'll see that in the new year.

Dude, this is one of the most amazing bushcraft shelters on KZbin! I'm jealous as heck! Will you do a door that opens and closes?
@HaydenWilsonOutdoors
@HaydenWilsonOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
@Master Yoshi How good would it be 👌 Then he can make his own door sign, make a plank of wood and burn Alex's Shack or something into it, hang it from the door with twine
@AlexDoes
@AlexDoes 3 жыл бұрын
Cheers dude, yes 100% doing a door. Not sure how but it will happen. It wont be high security but the door will help keep the heat in during summer and the wildlife out when I'm not there. Have you had a chance to get back to your build?

@@AlexDoes If anyone can do it, it's you 💪 Keen to see more progress. Well that's true, do any get in there and make a mess other than sneaky birds? Do you find you get cobwebs in there often? I have actually, recently had my GoPro replaced because it broke so now I've started recording again but now it's bloody raining here 🙃
@AlexDoes
@AlexDoes 3 жыл бұрын
@@HaydenWilsonOutdoors nah no cobwebs, there's a few bugs slowly eating their way through the wood though lol. Mate I'm really keen to see you upload some more shelter content.

dude, dont tell me Bazza has gone to the Camp Currawong in the sky. that would really suck. Your shelter certainly doesnt suck though, what did i say before you even started building this thing? that your shelter will be amazing. call me Craigstradamus

Is this hut on private land or public land and is it OK to stay , once built a fairly good hut on forestry property and they eventually found it and burnt it down , not sure if it was forestry people or just some prick arsenist
@AlexDoes

It's on forestry land. I completely expect them to bulldoze it next time the log the area there .
