Was watching this when my 7 year old video game loving daughter walked in to my office and she was instantly entranced by it. When I explained this is how the worlds in video games are made she said "Oooooh, is this how they made the Witcher?" 🤣 I am so proud. She also made me promise that we would watch the entire series together. She's said before that she wants to be a video game designer when she grows up, so I'm not surprised!

@@kalasknatte Hi there victor i am working with the Medieval Game Environment using a powerful rig, but the spline for the road (BP_Path) kills the performance so hard, i mean if I build a 3 segments road its okay but something bigger like a real road, its almost impossible to work. Any tip on how to fix this ? Thanks !

I cant stress enough how helpful the design theory discussion in this is! I study design at UCLA and some of the things you explain in this video were more practical than a lot of the stuff my professors have gone over. This whole series is awesome!

I was a little po'd that the 'tutorials' were so glossed over. But... that was before I downloaded the scene from UE Marketplace! Watch this series again with the scene open! There's soooo much there, and it has helpful creator tags ALL THE WAY THROUGH!! If you are not too beginner, but are HUNGRY for proper flows, download it, open it, play with it, IT'S ALL GOOD!!!!....

I may have missed this since I haven't watched the other videos, which I plan to do because this looks like an awesome series, but whenever I use megascans foliage like grass, they always come up as flat and out of place, really bright and only one color. This may be due to lighting or lack of ambient occlusion, but I was wondering how you get it to look so dynamic with the shadows in your scenes? Or if this is already covered in a different video, where could I find it? Thanks!

I have a question, when I add tons of foliage like what is shown in the tutorial I see some pretty massive drops in performance. I'm not sure if its because of the resolution of the textures, or some other combination of things. Disabling cast shadows from foliage helped a little, and so did using lower resolution textures, but the project is still much less performant than before foliage. Are there any other tips you have for optimizing such things? Thanks for the great tutorials!

Hello, thanks for ur work, its great) i have few questions: 1. Why u dont merge all SM in scene in one SM,to make one big mesh or at least split it into several layers for streaming? 2. Optimization) with an average PC, the performance of the scene is very low, there are a lot of ectors, meshes and particles, is that intended? Is the emphasis on the quality of the picture, visualization? Thank you

"This guy has been on a merchant trip for a couple of weeks", "let's say this guy is really paranoid" etc. Proceeds to leave his - probably expensive tools and axe outdoors but boards up the door? I like the video but come on - adding details just for the sake of it is counter intuitive. You say that you think about the story and progression of time but it's not convincing to be frank. I know I might sound nitpicky but it's all in the details.

This video is really great. I started UE4 after watching this video. I downloaded it to use as an example, but I couldn't open it due to lack of requirements on my computer. However, I would like to copy some of the techniques. How can I create a path using the "BP_Path" shown at 5:41 in the video? I've seen other people use "BP_Path" in their videos as well. I would also like to know how to make the "FenceTool" that appears at 6:13 in the video. Is it possible to download "BP_Path" and "FenceTool"? If you want to make it by yourself, please let me know the URL for reference. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
