Isn't it a great feeling to keep the old banger going a little longer. I've been there, had to repair a Volvo V70 ETM on the bench using a Sacer magnet contactless TPS sensor potentiometer. Magneti Marelli designed their ETM to fail by using a very thin track which would only last so many wipe operations. I think Mercedes knew exactly what they were doing with these bio-degradable wires. I think it's possible I have exactly the same problem with my 97 S500. It's been standing for a year and was ok before I left it. Started it 2 days ago and the ASR and ABS lights are on, but it revs ok. I'm afraid to cut into that harness and look as I'm sure it will be the same. I would like to thank you for the time and effort for making these videos. This will save me a lot of trouble. I'll be tying a piece of string around that spring and will make sure to use needle nose pliers. I have a great tool to get onto the ETM strap bolts, a small 10mm ratchet spanner which comes with a little accessory set that uses a magnetic socket which can take allen / torx or driver bits.

O man that's like a real John Carpenter movie material with that freakin spring. Put me a nervous break down just by watching that procedure. Victor has mind like Mr Miyagi.

Concerning the spring. Would it be a good idea to use some safety wire and safety wire so thet you do not lose the spring and leave the wire on till the spring is attached.

Victor, you need some locking clamps used by dentists and doctors to use on throttle body spring. Can't get away with these on job. If you purchase they can be found on eBay, at ammo and firearms web sites. They come in handy on guns also, lots small parts in tight places. Good luck love the videos. Try Natchez dot com for clamps, can get 10 different sizes cheap. Maybe your dentist or doctor will give you some old ones. Later man! Keeper coming.

Noticed that the battery was not disconnected, does it make any difference?

What do you mean on rebuilt wiring harness of the throttle body ? You bought millitary temperature range insulation ? You re insulated all the inner copper wires and then reeinsulted the outer side again as well with that millitary approved calbe insulation ?

I rewire throttle wiring with new wires and check throttle body internals when customers send me their throttles for rebuild. More info is on my website. Prices are a bit off but if you decide to send me yours to rebuild call in advance. Thanks

Awsome video ! Can i ask, did you get another throttle body, or did you rewire the harness ? i thought i saw another unit on your workbench. Also about how much did it cost you for all the parts you ordered ? and where did you order them all from ?
