Looking good Martin, really impressed with the finish considering it was sprayed outdoors :-)

Yes Dan, I've been lucky spraying this one as there are very few insects about.

Hi is it straight on with the gold base coat now? As I've seen some people primer it first.Another good video thanks.

Yes, in this case, the gold covers very well so I'm confident the lighter patches will cover

Again, nice job Martin. Really seeing the progress now. What type compressor are you using Martin and how many liters is it? I need one myself but am unsure as to what I should go for. Just need it for odd jobs so nothing too fancy will do me. Cheers for now

Mine is a 60CFM Clarke Air compressor. You can get away with a smaller one for spraying but I use air tools as well as a sand blast cabinet

Most people don't take all the fittings off like the lights door locks etc. It's better if you do though less masking up and no paint in places where it didnt need it.

Do you need an expensive gun for spraying waterbased?

Be very interesting to see the finished result. Also wondering when the mini will be finished. Is Jimmy going to be using it or are you going to sell it for profit?
@retrorestore10 жыл бұрын
Jimmy's a bit strapped for cash at the moment because of insurance costs in his first year of driving. He's keeping the mini and we'll sort the carb out when we have some spare time.

those da discs are made to use dry you know, also if you have scotch-brite pads why are you not using them for keying the surface up ready for paint (of course you could not have used them for the cracked lacquer but the rest of it should have been fine)
@retrorestore10 жыл бұрын
The reason I flatted the doors down with the 500 grit instead of the scotch-brite pad is because the car's finish wasn't original and just scuffing the surface would not remove any imperfections the previous spray job had so I decided to flat the paint to match the rest of the car that I had sprayed with the same preparation. Thanks for your comment.
