I've just realized after all these years that TPF wasn't widely distributed in syndication. Other than one of the nationwide cable networks in the early/mid 1990's and then Nickelodeon in the later part of the 90's, I don't remember seeing the reruns. Perhaps because of the music royalties and copyrights? I can honestly say that when I watch an episode now, it's been 50 years since I saw it... almost like "seeing it again for the first time"

Quite honestly, this to me is a real blessing to watch. Not only for the presence of Danny and Shirley, but seeing two of the very best people being interviewed, Dave Madden, and my very sweet and dear friend, Suzanne Crough (Condray). When Dave died, my then ex-wife was working at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. I came up to drop her off some lunch when I saw this man who I thought looked remarkably like Reuben Kincaid...I asked her "is that Dave Madden?" and she quietly acknowledged it was, but due to HIPAA laws I was not going to approach him. So she surprised me one day by bringing me his autograph and a personalized message from him. That was awesome. Now Suzanne I had known since we were kids, growing up in the same neighborhood. That girl was extraordinary; articulate, very intelligent, and so soft-spoken. We stayed friends until she got married to her husband Bill, but when I heard of her passing, I was in total tears and shock for days. That same girl I knew so well was gone. Seeing this is definitely a treat to me. Thank you for the upload!

Reunion movie would be so nice. Seriously, children, grandchildren. The Brady Bunch did it. Why not The Partridge Family. Come on Get Happy...
@obscurelyvague8 жыл бұрын
+Dolly Trimble It would further cheapen everything. The Partridge Family was very commercialized as it was. The Brady Bunch really became thought of as junk TV because it had so many reunion shows and TV movies after the series went off the air (Brady Bunch Variety Hour, The Brady Brides etc). Even David Cassidy quit touring at the peak of his fame and it was for the better since he quit while he was ahead. If he continued allowing himself to be marketed with his face on magazines , cereal boxes etc. more than it already was, it would have gotten to where it would have gone on too long. It was best that his "Teen Idol/Pop Star" career died with whatever little dignity it had. Of course, decades later, (now in 2016) David has done different things such as acting in different TV shows, he acted in Broadway and has written songs and oversaw stage shows in Las Vegas etc, but at his age , in his 60th decade of life, he is not likely to make any significant career change after being thought of as mostly the guy who played Keith Partridge. And of course it is well known that David wanted to be an actor not a pop star. But it seems that the rest of his years he will be touring and performing Partridge Family songs to aging Baby Boomers. It is really a sad story of a really talented man who was marketed the wrong way.

Nineteen ninety seven? That was long ago but it was still too soon after the 1970s to have made a documentary or a movie about a "once popular" TV show that began in 1970. The cast of that show were still relatively young then. It seems that now that some of the cast are dead and some of the surviving ones have gone through particularly hard times, it would make a more interesting story to tell regarding what happened to the cast members after even the youngest ones were now in their 50s.
