Well that was a world-class Grime Line, an amazing color change on the driveway. 2:02/2:46 There are times it is absolutely charming to see how much work renews a place, and this driveway is one of them. Such a transformation! I expect the neighbours will be rushing to call you to do their drives. I'm surprised that the customer didn't ask you to do the lower roofs at the front. Perhaps you can point this out when you return to re-sand the driveway? For a modest fee, of course!

This reminds me of an anecdote I read decades ago, about someone who had a family member come and housesit for them while they were out of town for an extended time (work travel or something, I don't remember the details). The person had a paved patio with exotic mosses intentionally planted between the pavers-- mosses from all over the world, and they had automatic misting etc. They came home and the family member told them happily that they had weeded the entire patio and cleared out all that slippery moss as a surprise... XD

Yikes! I have a similar kind of story. When I was a grad student in a science education program, all the grad students were asked to help with the cleaning and re-organization of a large storage room with science materials we used in our teaching. There were a number of small bowls with what looked like dirt but we knew to be soil samples that could be used in a science investigation. However, no one knew who used them, and so they were thought to be unnecessary to keep in storage because new samples could easily put together when needed. So, they were all thrown out. Turns out that they were soil samples from around the world, which was learned when the professor who used them returned from overseas travel. He had collected them over the years as he traveled, and of course was furious when he found they had been pitched. This was back in the 1980s, when the world was much less globally connected, and what had taken him years to amass could not be easily replaced. Yikes there too!

What I love about these videos is that when you look at them driveways at first, they don't look so bad/dirty (we're used to seeing dirty driveways) but then when he starts cleaning you can see a massive difference!! And you realize how wrong you were. Every. Single. Time.

Love these herringbone brick driveways. In the US, the driveways are usually large slabs of concrete that are rigid and quickly develop deep cracks. This interwoven brick seems like it would be more structurally sound, as well as easier to repair without having to replace the whole thing.

You did a brilliant and remarkable job. I watch and always wonder, why the homeowners lets it get to such a state then have it cleaned. Wouldn't regular maintenance be more advisable then one horrendous massive clean up every number of years. Some of these homeowners should really be ashamed of the state they let their properties get into. And hope you bill reflects this and the huge effort expended on your part to clean up their pig sty state you often find! Well done - you are such a dedicated and hard working man.
