Why should the felt be flapped forward when premade felts are bent the opposite direction? The direction of flapping seems to make it harder to insert the front of the drum around the seal as described in this video.

If you’re having trouble keeping the felt folded while reassembling, tie a piece of dental floss / thin string around the seal to keep it folded up. Then once you have it into the drum, just cut the string from the top and pull it out

Flap of the felt seal glued on wrong way. On mine it is glued on so that drum can be inserted easily, the edge will not catch the seal flap

This video should be taken down. It shows the felt being stalled upside down and contrary to the actual installation instructions. If you install per these instructions, it will make it very difficult to properly install the felt seal at the drum the way it should be installed. If you do get it installed, them you have to question that it will properly hold together and function as intended.

Good catch, I have seen them installed both ways and both work. You are correct it is a bit more of a challenge getting the front to slip into place. In any case it is always best practice to follow the manufactures guidance when replacing any part.
