It'd make sense because (idk if you already know since it's been 7 years) there's recordings and logs on the FEV Lab's terminal that talk about how batches of test subjects kept on rolling out the same results and Swan was a victim of this testing as he was once an Institute scientist that had FEV injected in him because he was proven a traitor to the Institute

I know this is old, but if you go into Danse’s room on the Prydwen, you’ll find liquor and vodka bottles EVERYWHERE, most of them empty. I think Danse is a closeted drinker, which would make sense since he has PTSD quite badly (he can’t make meaningful relationships anymore), and he hides it by acting in public like he doesn’t drink. Bethesda puts a lot of work into their characters so it’s not out of the question
