Your stator is a key part of the charging system on your ATV, UTV, or motorcycle. Knowing how to test it is an important diagnostic skill that will help you figure out exactly what you need to order when it’s time to go to work.
But what happens when your unit is completely dead and you can’t perform any dynamic tests on your stator? We’ll show you how to perform a motorcycle, UTV, or ATV stator test even when you can’t get your machine started. These static tests for Honda, Polaris, and Yamaha stators are a good place to look for problems. Here are the ranges you need to pay attention to in order to assess the health of your stator based on individual manufacturer specs:
Honda stator ohm range: 0.1 to 1.0 ohms
Polaris stator ohm range: 0.07 to 0.13 ohms
Yamaha stator ohm range: 0.1 to 0.132 ohms
