"Parvaaz-e Noor" Official Music Video | Sandeep Das and the HUM Ensemble | Delhi to Damascus

Parvaaz-e Noor: Flight of Light is a part of Transcending Borders One Note at a Time, a socially-driven project series by Tabla Maestro Sandeep Das. This live performance took place as part of Sandeep Das' "Delhi to Damascus" concert in February 2023 at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver, Canada.
Raga Misra-Bhairavi set to Deepchandi Taal. Performers: Sandeep Das (Tabla), Nazih Borish (Oud), Rajib Karmakar (Sitar), Kamaljeet Ahluwalia (Santoor).
About the piece:
The first flight (Parvaaz) for a fledgling brings with it trepidation and fear of the unknown. But it gathers courage, unravels its wings, and launches itself for the sky. Flushed with the freedom, it experiences and awash in the light (noor) its faith has brought. Parvaaz-e Noor symbolizes the power of conviction and liberation from the fears that hold us back.
