Pashupatastra is the most destructive, powerful, irresistible weapon mentioned in the Hindu scriptures. It is an irresistible and most destructive personal weapon of Shiva, Kali and Adi Para Shakti, which can be discharged by the mind, the eyes, words, or a bow. It is said that this weapon must never to be used against lesser enemies or by lesser warriors, the Pashupatastra can destroy creation and vanquishing all beings. This weapon is capable of immense carnage and overpowering all beings. Therefore, it is advised that the Pashupatastra should not be used.
No known warrior has ever used this mighty weapon in the history of Hinduism, but there is a story on how Arjuna got the possession of this weapon.

Major Correction - In Mahabharat, Arjun was the only one who possessed Pashupatastra but in Ramayan, Rishi Vishwakarma, Lord Ram, and Indrajeet possessed Pashupatastra. Also, it is believed that Lord Parshurama possessed Pashupatastra as well along with several other divine astras. Further, there are numerous instances where Pashupatastra was used in the history. Lord Shiva himself used Pashupatastra three times to destroy the city of Tripura. Rishi Vishwamitra used the divine astra against Vashishta. It is also believed that Lord Shiva used the astra against Lord Krishna as per Harivamsa. Dronacharya also used the divine astra against arjun but with lower power so arjun was able to counter it. Indrajeet used the Pashupatastra on Lord Laxman in the battlefield but the divine weapon refused to hit Lord Laxman and vanished.

And since arjuna won lord shiva in arrow fight which eneded up in wrestling ,(dint tie up but won)He earned the name VIJAYA(the winner)and the place came to be known as VIJAYAWADA(VIJAYA's Place).Also this story is very famous in the name of KIRATHARJUNEEYAM(The legend of KIRATHA(Tribal fighter avtar of Lord Shiva) & ARJUNA).Even there is a pillar dedicated to this vicotry of arjuna named VIJAYA STHUPA here.

Many people don’t know that in Hindu mythology there were more powerful weapons than Bramhashtra , like Paashupatashtra(of Lord Shiva) , Bramhashira(of lord Bramha) and Narayanashtra ( of lord Narayana) , all of which were possessed by Arjuna which at the same time made him the ultimate Warrior of Kurukshetra ( even more powerful than debatable Karna ) , because Arjuna never used those unimaginable powerful weapons as just one use of those weapons could destroy the whole creation!

vedic literature is much more ancient than any one can imagine . Vedic knowledge was transpired orally from generations to generations prior to taking written form. The concept of God realized more than 25000 years ago by ancient Indians is totally different from the idea of God of Abrahamic religions. There is no image , shape, colour, shape , physical form ( no male female transgender) for God who is considered as a super natural power that creates ( Brahma) maintains ( Vishnu ) and destructs ( Shiva) all living and non living beings, not only in earth but in millions of universes exist , which is surviving for billions of years , then destroyed and remian destroyed for billions of years and then again created by God. This super natural power ( God) exists in all living and nonliving beings. That is the presence of same and one God in every living and nonliving beings. The God is only one but is called and described in different names such as non violance, truth, Dharma, knowledge ( Guru is Sanskrit word for teacher as well as knowledge) and material as well as spiritual wealth, wisdom, humility etc . God is one but different paths exist to reach God. This is the God of ancient Indians . Indian subcontinent was called the " knowledge continent " when there were only 6 continents in the planet millions of years ago. The idea of God in ancient India is pure science recognized by Einstein and Newton as written by them in their books. World's premier Nuclear Institute, CERN has a God Shiva Statue called Anand Tandavam ( cosmic dance of God Shiva ) on the premises in Switzerland. Please analyze why God Shiva Statue means and describes which is recognized by the world's premier Nuclear scientists as their guide for scientific inventions. Einstein and Issac Newton had pointed out only what was already available in written form in Vedas. Please read and compare both theories. Jesus had travelled to Himalayas, India and studeied vedas. His followers, after death of Jesus, copied from the vedas and made a book for the whites in Europe but unfortunately Europeans didn't understand the concept and founded Abrahamic religions after breath of Jesus. India's idea of God is different, much broader and deeper. It is not true. Indrajit used the weapon against shri Lakshman. Rather, he used all three mighty weapons- vaishnavastra, brahmastra, and pashupatastra. All three weapons did not harm Lakshman. This is how Indrajit came to know that Sri Lakshmana is no ordinary man. So again as said in the video, the weapon was used. Although kudos team, nice video and nice narration!!!
