Dean, I do like these "silent shorts". They show your skills really well. However, as somebody with little knowledge of these machines (the only knowledge I have is from watching you! Lol!) How critical is it to use only the Paslode cleaner and lubricant when servicing these units? Won't regular air tool oil work just as well for assembly?

Hi Dean have you heard of the paslode tester for newer models done hundreds of older guns but the newer ones im360 xi ci etc really struggle with unless I can narrow it dien to a single faulty part

No I don't know of any testers. They can be tricky some times. Basicly you sometimes need to have a spark unit, motor, wiring loom, controler, antenna, battery connector and electrovable spare. So you can change one part at a time to narrow down a particular fault. I actually had one this week that I wasted 2 hours on, because it had a red light on and I couldn't figure out why. Turned out to be a broken wire on the electrovalve and also a broken pin on the spark unit socket

So what exactly did you service? you cleaned the thing, that is not what i class as a service. If i took my car to the garage for a service and all they did was clean it i would'n't pay them.

You aren't familiar with standard tool services, are you? A lot of "standard service" is a look over, clean out and reassemble. Paslode in particular won't honour their warranty if you don't do it. Source: self Paslode seller in Australia (who have much longer warranties than in dean's world)
