Thanks for providing some encouraging content. For us retired vets, this is gold. Gets the blood flowing again. If you can find some canes for us big guys, (and I'm taking needing canes in the 40 -42 inch range) I'd be in. I'm noticing all the overlap of skills between bo staff. nunchucks, indian clubs and canes. First two I'm halfway proficient in, the last two I'm quickly learning thanks to you.

En España han utilizado ese tipo de bastones (llamados popularmente cachabas, gayatas etc) la gente mayor para ayudarse a andar durante cientos de años. Me parece muy interesante su aplicación marcial. Gracias por tus clases de defensa personal.

With the times we find ourselves in these days, as a martial arts teacher and cane self-defense practitioner myself, may I suggest you show us some blocks against weapons, like a baseball bat, for example, coming in front the side, or overhead? It seems a two-handed block would serve well there, keeping the non-hook-holding hand spread, with palms flat behind the cane, to protect the fingers, and to provide the force needed to defend against and deflect an unavoidable bat swing. Yes, getting out of the way is the best solution, but it would be a useful thing to know, and add to self-defense cane techniques, if they are ever needed.

Practiced 20 minutes today lots of building blacks. How do I order this cane from you

I’ve been watching you for A few weeks now and I’m comfortable with feeling I can defend myself somewhat with my cane. I don’t really need the cane but since I’ve been watching you it’s a great defense. I live in San Francisco California and things are crazy and the cowards are picking on a lot of the senior citizens. I watch you all the time do your exercises with a cane and also practice your moves. But I’m in so need of one of the light canes in order to practice properly with a cane and then I can use my heavier walking cane I will have the confidence to move with a heavier cane to defend myself, need your help in finding a light cane. I will try to get your email in order to give you my email for info i’m finding a light practice cane.

I cannot get them right now. None of the suppliers have them. A good alternative would be the cane masters dojo training cane made in oak and 7/8” diameter. canemasters.com/affiliate-pages/quantum-martial-arts/quantum-dojo-training-cane

How would your combat cane for. I'm a 6'6 guy. I been training Cane Fu and Ti-chi, and Eskrima for 20 years. I'm looking to buy a Cane for a good low price.

Would work well for you. Get a longer cane. Cane masters will make you a longer cane for a good price. Check out the dojo training cane and ask for 40” canemasters.com/affiliate-pages/quantum-martial-arts/quantum-dojo-training-cane

I live in Pakistan and we have a lot of rattan cane in my country and what do you do when the enemy has a gun
@pasquinilli2 жыл бұрын
Run! Haha. Seriously though, if he pulls out a gun and doesn’t immediately shoot you, then he likely won’t use it on you. Give him what he wants. You can’t fight a gun with sticks. If he is pulling it and you can’t run then hit him before he can use the gun. That’s a good but tough question.

QUESTION: If an older guy uses a cane because he doesn't walk so well...how is he gonna' be able to effectively USE his cane as a weapon----especially if he is no longer very athletic?
@pasquinilli2 жыл бұрын
Simple and effective thrusts that don’t require a lot of strength or athleticism. Let the cane do the work. We train and practice a lot here in person and all students become proficient in these simple moves regardless of physical challenges and limitations.

@@pasquinilli Sounds reasonable, my Friend----but what about Speed, Strength, and reflexes? Younger guys on the 'Street have very quick reflexes, and strength. I shudder to think what the result might be if a 'would-be' attacker was able to Grab the Cane, or, Stick; The poor old guy would get the Tar beaten out of him, with his OWN cane. Well---I suppose SOME type of defensive plan is better than NO plan at all... However---these street punks carry weapons of their own. I still say, Mace is the best method of defense. Hmmm...
@pasquinilli2 жыл бұрын
@@raygsbrelcik5578 yes. It’s all about when you have no other option than to defend yourself. Look at all the senseless acts of violence against elderly and women in our streets right now. Young thugs and middle aged thugs with no respect for life. It’s either get beaten and hope you don’t die or fight back for self defense.

@@pasquinilli May I ask you, though; Is it true that you guys have less of that kind of violence than Most other parts of the Country?
