What other questions do you have about the pilot interview?

What is the psychological/cognitive testing about? What sort of questions get asked there?
@AviatorInspirations5 жыл бұрын
They are designed to measure problem solving abilities and general IQ. If you google cognitive testing you will find many examples. For the psychology part, they ask you random questions like “do you like flowers” and then ask you the same question but worded differently to gauge if you answer them consistently. These tests aren’t something you need to study for, it’s just another tool for the airlines to assess their candidates.

Not really a question, but a video idea...... could you tell us more about flight training for international students in Canada, school's, costs (from scratch to flight instructor) and career possibilities (in Canada)? Thanks for the videos, really like your content, cheers!

I have never been in that type of emergency. When I was asked this same question all I could think of was the time when I shat myself on a bus. I got off as soon as possible and managed to find a field where I wiped using my socks and threw it away along with my pants. I didn't get the job, what should I have said given I haven't had an aviation emergency ?
@AviatorInspirations Жыл бұрын
😂 did you actually say that during an interview? The answer is truth, you can say “I’ve never been in a real emergency, but during my training we practiced ……(power off landings, simulated engine failure etc) and then you go through the whole acronym I explain in the video. Sometimes you stretch the truth, they aren’t there to fact check you, as long as you can give an example and what the outcome was and what you learned from it. Keep practicing!
@adamsmithintin2803 Жыл бұрын
@@AviatorInspirations yes, I did say it because it was the only thing I could think off and once I started I couldn't really stop half way through. I actually don't even have any flying experience apart from being a passenger on a commercial airline which might also be a problem. I can't afford to train but maybe I should just save up for a few lessons.

I’m a North American aviation channel, so I don’t know exactly what they will ask. But be ready to present yourself with confidence and sell yourself to the recruiters about why you want to become a pilot, and demonstrate any aviation knowledge you may already have.

So when you interview with an airline ... in order to pass the sim eval, you need to fly the aircraft they’re hiring you for - even if you’ve never flow that aircraft type previously? Is it different for regionals and majors perhaps?
