I took a bunch of pass/fail (like 4) during COVID as an undergrad and kept a grade for classes like general chem 2 and physics and I'm super worried about this affecting my application. I took one again this semester because of Hurricane Ian.

It's so depressing listening to these brilliant people with decent grades, qualifications, experience, and MCAT scores struggling to get into med school while I'm here with nothing to offer so far lol and I only have one year left to do something. Medicine is my passion but I don't understand why the boards make it so difficult to get in.

It's because a lot of them apply to out of state public schools, many of which openly state on their websites that they strictly don't accept out of state students. Also, there is a ton of students applying for each school, especially after COVID restrictions died down.

What HK47 said and listening to Dr.Gray speak over the years I’m sure they don’t want robots who are amazing at everything and write the application (experiences, PS etc) like a robot with no soul whatsoever. Also some people may mess up at the interview and that can be a reason for rejection. One year is more than enough I have 3/4 months 😂
